The week passed by quickly, it was a quite weird thing that happens when winter comes near, which means...

Christmas is near.

A day that I fully enjoy as a child but nowadays Christmas is only a lonely holiday at home reading novels by the fireplace. I don't know if Xavier wants to spend Christmas with me, my encounters of him limited to the point I only saw when he was about to leave for work.

It's either he has a girlfriend or it's just his work.

Definitely a girlfriend.

I chuckled at the thought of Xavier awkwardly dancing with a beautiful lady, Xavier never knew he way around girls.

"Someone's going coockoo" Kade leaned on the locker beside mine.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Yeah, and that person's definitely you." I scoffed.

He laughed heartily, "Sweetheart, why don't we just admit we're both crazy?"

I cocked my head to the side trying to figure out what he just said.

"Crazy for each other" came his stupid remark.

I simply rolled my eyes at his antics. "Ha Ha. Very funny."

His smile faltered but recovered quickly as if nothing happened. "Yeah... sure." He cleared his throat and tugged the collar of his shirt. "H-hey, uh... wanna hang out sometimes?"

With a straight face I masked my confused thoughts. The three of us hung out a lot, why did he seem nervous? "Yeah Sure I'll text Cayenne about it later." I answered anyway.

He stiffened. "Uh... No." He said "I was kinda hoping it would only be the two of us."

My whole mind stopped at his words. Was he asking me on a date?

"Uh... If you put it that way, yeah. I am." He said sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck.

I said that out loud?

"Yes, apparently."

I groaned. I have got to stop doing that. But when my mind functioned properly again, it swiveled back to the question in hand.

"So... its okay i-if you... If you say no, though--"

"No! No!" I interject, waving my hands frantically.

A pained look passed his face as his lips tugged to a slight frown. "Oh, okay." He sounded so disappointed, rejected.

Then I realized what I had just said. "No! I mean yes."

He raised an eyebrow while I groaned at my stupid words once again. "Sorry. I mean, No-- to saying no.
Get what I mean?"

He raised another eyebrow, still looking fairly confused. "So, is that a yes?"

My frustration left just like mist, it evaporated to thin air. A grin spread through my cheeks. "Yes." I said.

He too, lit up at my reply. As a wave of relief washed over him he smiled from ear to ear-- which looked kinda creepy, but oh well-- and engulfed me into a bear hug.

A small 'oof' escaped my lips as Kade squeezed the air out of me. He loosened his arms around but didn't let go. A warm, bubbly feeling bursted within me. My grin grew wider as I wrapped my arms around his waist, pulling him closer.

He sighed and stroked my hair slowly.

This felt nice.

Knowing that you're wanted by at least one person, that for them your opinion matters.

It's nice to know he cares.

"Uhh... um..." Kade started spluttering words, he was probably feeling uncomfortable.

I don't blame him, even I feel uncomfortable. It's probably because I felt eyes boring at the back of my neck.

When Kade and I left the corridor couldn't help but see Axel in the corner of my eye.

And he was frowning.

Cayenne dolled me up, and since winter was rolling in she plucked a cute off shoulder quarter sleeved lace blouse with a pair of of jeans that fit me really well. I didn't wear heels, because a. It was freezing b. I can't walk in them. I settled on some ba let flats instead.

I didn't want to wear make up, so Cayenne chose the natural pallette but I still felt it was too much. After all the arguing I ended up with a winged eyeliner look and light lipstick. Cayenne didn't do anything with my already curly hair, instead she pinned it back.

I looked beautiful, that was my opinion. What I am worried about is Kaden's opinion. Do I look okay? Is this enough? Am I enough?

Before I could answer the doorbell rung and Cayenne bolted to it. I followed behind her.

I poked my head to peek at Kade and Cayenne.

"... you going?" Cayenne placed her hands on her hips.

"Uhh... That's for me to know and you to find out?" His remark came out more like a question than an answer.

I decided to enter there to avoid Cayenne's wrath.

Once I entered the room Kade froze. He eyed me up and down then a small smile graced his lips. "Hey." He breathed.

"Hey yourself." I flashed a grin myself.
He held out his arm for me to hold on to as I made my way to the door. Kade was clad in his flannel and jeans.

"Use protection!" Cayenne screamed at the door when we got to the car. I saw Kade's cheeks darken while I felt mine heat up. He opened the door for me like a true gentleman.

My thoughts drifted, did he do this for anybody else? He probably did, he looked like a freaking model for goodness sake. I'm no different from the other girls he probably have taken on a date on. I'll just be hus friend, and that's all we could go. If we didn't work out, then it would be a pity to waste our friendship.

"What ' re you thinking about?" Kade asked while driving.

"Us." Came my simple reply.

He gave a short side glance, his eyebrows knitted in confusion. "What about us?"

"Exactly." Was all I said.

His face contorted in such confusion but didn't press further.

I didn't say more because I didn't know the answer myself.

What about us?
