Jessica's POV
I shut my alarm off and rolled over looking up at my ceiling, I didn't want to get up this morning for the fact it was Frank's funeral but I did. I slowly got out of bed and took a long hot shower. I got out of the shower and went to my room to pull on my undergarments before pulling out the black dress I bought with Helen the other day, it was a long sleeve black dress that came down an inch over my knee and had a scoop neckline. I pulled it on then walked into the bathroom to do my makeup and curl my hair, once I was done I slipped into my black heels before grabbing my phone and purse.
I stood in my apartment and looked around. I really didn't want to go downstairs, I actually just wanted to go back to bed and I wanted Frank to be here. I sighed and opened my door, I walked out of my apartment and locked it up before meeting Harry downstairs. Harry kissed my hand as he lead me outside to the limo, Liam opened the door for me and let me get into the limo to see Helen, and her two kids. I waved at them before sitting next to Harry, we all sat in silence the entire way to the church.
Once we arrived we all got out while the paparazzi started snapping pictures, do these guys ever calm down? Like damn this is a funeral and here they are taking pictures of Harry. Harry and Liam were ushering in Helen and her kids as fast as they could. I rolled my eyes at the camera as we all walked into the church with our heads down; we all sat in the front next to Niall, Gus, and Louis. One we sat down the Preacher came out and started by saying that Frank was in a better place before offering anyone to go say a few words about him. I watched as Helen's son helped her up to the podium and stood next to her as she spoke.
"'My beloved Frank, I met you when I was 17 and you were 19. You changed my life the moment we started dating, we had only been three months when you asked me to be your wife. It was the summer of 1974 when we got married and what a wonderful 44 years of it was. We had two amazing kids and honey we will miss you and your fun loving side. I will never stop loving you my dear." she said wiping away a few tears before stepping down and coming to sit next to her daughter.
A ton of people went up and talked about how much Frank changed their lives or how funny he was, or how much of an awesome guy he was. I watched as Harry stood up and walked to the podium, he cleared his throat and fixed his tie before he spoke about Frank. "Frank was a good guy, he was like a father figure to me. I loved him like my old man never loved me, um I talked to him a week before he died and I will never forget what he told me." Harry looked like he was going to cry, he wiped his nose and cracked a smile. "He said 'Look boy, the world is beautiful right? Well nothing is more beautiful than the one girl you met who changes your life. Mine happens to be that wonderful woman in there cooking for me, she changed my life the moment I saw her." I turned to look at Helen, she was crying. " I knew I had to marry her and everytime I'm not around her I'm comparing everything to her and you know what son? Nothing ever comes close to her, promise me something. You'll look after Helen when I'm gone.' And I promised him I would. Because she was his entire world, nothing was more important than her and I'd like to honor him by making sure she's safe always." he said before stepping down, he walked over and sat next to Helen. He squeezed her hand to give her comfort.
After Harry no one else got up so I took a deep breath and stood; I felt everyone's eyes on me as I made my way out of the pew and as I walked to the front of the room.
I didn't look up as I started talking. "I didn't know Frank that long but he was a good man and it was obvious he loved Helen. When I was staying with them for a few weeks I enjoyed listening to his stories and watching him and Helen interact." I smiled looking over at her. "They had a kind of love that was in movies, the kind of love that every one strives, everything I witnessed with them... I just hope one day I can have what they did." Once I was done I went and sat down, then the Preacher came up again and closed in a prayer before everyone left and we followed the car carrying Frank's casket in it to the cemetery.
