Chapter TWO
All around there were guns firing, drinks being poured and gulped down. People were dancing in the background, completely and utterly drunk.
Jack was walking briskly through the chaos with Gibbs following closely behind. "How do we know who to look for Jack?"
"Well, I have arranged a meeting with a certain someone what knows how this girl looks. So she said she would lead us to said girl" Jack said, not stopping but turning back to Gibbs every now and then.
"Oh, so who's this someone that knows who's searching for you?" Gibbs was a little unsure about what Jack had gotten them both into.
"You'll see." He said with a smile and a twinkle in his eye.
As they approached the darkened corner of the pub, the noise of the laughter, singing and rowing seemed to quieten down. There was a figure sitting. It was a woman, she had a black hat on with a buckle at the front and a feather on the side. "I've been expecting you Jack" she said. You could just make out a smirk that emerged across the woman's face.
"Dearest--"Jack was cut off
"Don't bother." the woman said.
"You seem somewhat agitated. Whats wrong?" Jack asked, weary of the answer.
"You marooned me on that tiny island! Left me to die!" The woman shouted.
"Angel--" Jack began to apologize.
"Not before you killed my beloved father either!" She snarled.
"Well, as I have said, he would have killed you given the chance. I did not have the intention of risking your life, neither did I need yet another fearsome pirate after me." Jack said rather frankly. "Tell me this though.. How did you get off that island?"
"Sea turtles" The woman smiled
"Ah" Jack chuckled
"What is it that you want?" She snapped.
"I've heard.. Things." Jack said as he raised his eyebrows. "I have heard tales of a girl.."
"Ahh, so you've heard of her then?" The woman said.
"Yes, well, sort of." Jack frowned. He looked at the woman as she took off her hat with a grin. You could see her beautiful face as she lit the candle on the table between them. Her brown hair fell down from the top of her head as it was freed from the hat and she shook her head. It was, of course, Angelica.
A few days had passed and with each sunset Jack grew more impatient. He wandered the decks humming to himself, occasionally taking his compass out, which wasn't much help lately. Still he gave it a shake and cautiously opened it up, “Must be broken!” It spun a few times the pointed towards the direction in which Angelica was standing, Liar! Jack taunted the compass as he shook it again, it replied simply by returning to its original direction, Angelica.
The sea was quite still, although clouds were forming in the distance. A storm was on its way. Angelica stood at the helm observing her newly attained crew, her attention was soon back on the maps as Jack appeared, sat at the table and began to study them. “Tell me, really, honestly and truthfully, my dearest Angelica, why you are helping me with so little in it for you?” Angelica wasn't surprised, she knew sooner or later the question would arise and she had the perfect answer, but first, a question “Why is it that you so badly desire to find her “You see, Jack” She smiled, “It is as much my concern finding this girl as it is yours, maybe even more so”
“But why?” Jack leaned across the table, eager to find out more.
“You will find out soon enough” and with that Angelica returned to the wheel and continued to look over the ship. With that Jack got up and wandered back to his cabin.
Jack awoke that night as he heard a loud thump and felt a dull pain everywhere. He was on the floor and. Wet? “What?” Jack sat up confused, he looked around his cabin. He was completely alone, he could hear no noise up on deck but that of the wind and waves,. Suddenly the whole room was lit, only for a second, then came the loud roar of thunder “The storm!” Jack concluded as he looked to the door and half crawled trying to get up on deck, just as he was about to open the door he realised why he was wet, “Another leek” He sighed as water trickled above the door from the quarter deck and landed on top of him. Jack turned the handle just as a violent wave hit the ship and for a moment Jack felt as if the ship could have tipped right over as he fell slowly and hit his head on his cabin wall.
Outside everyone was frantic, except of course for Angelica, who was battling with the wheel to keep the ship going steady. “Where's your courage!?” She demanded
“Not with a woman at the helm!” one of them piped up, Angelica glared and let the ship move with the waves for a second or two which knocked most of the crew off their feet. “Anyone else have a problem? Feel free to take over if you think you can” Angelica smirked and waited for Jack to butt in, her smirk fell and her eyes squinted in attempt to spot him on deck, it was difficult to see with the waves crashing up against the sides of the Pearl, the stray, salty droplets hitting her face. “Where is Jack?” She shouted to Gibbs, he shrugged “Last I saw he was in his cabin”
“I can't believe he would leave me to sail his ship through a storm with these useless idiots! Voy a matarlo si consigo salir de esta vida” she then proceeded to insult him in Spanish as she continued to grapple with the wheel to keep the Pearl from being consumed by the waves.
