Chapter THREE

“Jack! Jack wake up you old fool!” Gibbs shouted at him as he poured water over his face.
“The storm!” Jack got up and made for the door, “Angelica!” he shouted as he emerged on deck, no reply, Jack looked up at the helm, no one was there. “Hold on” Jack had come to realize, it was daytime and the ship was docked. “Gibbs” Jack shouted as he looked around him confused. This place, like Tortuga, was filled with pirates! It was a fairly small island with a bustling town just off the port. Even at this hour in the day many drunken pirates staggered around, out of one tavern into the next. “Pirates” Jack smiled, then he saw something, someone travelling quickly off down one of the streets “Angelica!” Jack headed off the ship, “Gibbs mind my ship!” he stopped, “And this time.. Don't lose her eh?”
“Aye, cap'n” Gibbs reluctantly accepted his new task.

Angelica was scouring the streets and studying the faces of every person she passed. “Why isn't she here!” Angelica was becoming increasingly annoyed which was not helping her in her mission. All of the anger from last night had been building up rapidly and now to realize she was one step behind yet again was just enough to put her in a foul mood for the rest of the day. Just as she was ready to give up and go back to the Pearl she heard something..
“Aye, I heard she was headed to Tortuga again, she knows she's wanted and she ain't stupid either!”
“No, did you see her in the bar brawl the other night? Never seen anything like it!”
“No, definatley not from a woman, of course you heard who her mother is?”
“Well.. Poor child, she may be hard done by but at least she knows how to look out for number one eh?”
Angelica cut in, “Hello there, I couldn't help but over hear you two boys speaking about my--”
“It's her!” the first one gasped, “Your the one who's lookin' for her?”
“Indeed, could you tell me how many days sail she has made?” Angelica charmed, eager to get the whereabouts of the girl so she could go back to the Pearl, she may have the fastest ship but it only matters when the one whom you are after isn't 3 steps ahead of you. Just as she was about to find out what chances she had of catching the girl at Tortuga Jack arrived. “Angelica! Darling!” he ran towards her, arms flailing as usual, Angelica couldn't help but laugh to herself at his mannerisms. “Jack, where have you been!”
“Oh, is he the fa--” The second stranger began.
“Im sorry we must be going now”Angelica turned and set off back to the Pearl almost at a run just as she noticed Jack was talking to the strangers, “Jack! Come, now!” She called back sharply to him, like a pup in the wrong he came trotting up to her, “If this is about the storm I will have you know that I was otherwise engaged at the time.”
“Jack, you were drunk!” Angelica replied inhaling sharply
“I was not!” Jack was offended that she would even think that.
“Enough! Isabella has set sail for Tortuga, we must head back there if you wish to find her.”
“Isabella? How'd you know her name?” Jack quizzed
“The two pirates I was talking to, they told me.” Angelica was too quick thinking for Jack this time, however she needed to watch her mouth if she wanted to keep her secret safe.

"I see you managed to keep track of the ship this time! Well done" Jacks sarcasm was anything but subtle, Gibbs just wandered back below decks. Angelica walked up to the quarter deck and began shouting orders at the crew, "Lift the anchor, prepare to make sail!" Angelica was evidently still somewhat annoyed with Jacks performance, or rather lack of performance during the storm and everybody on the ship knew it, exept of course Jack himself. "Angelica, what is the rush love?"
"We have been to three ports that she was rumoured to be at and at each one we arrive too late, I do not intend on chasing her all over the Caribbean for the rest of my days! She is only a girl and yet she is always 3 steps ahead of us Jack!" Her annoyance gave way to pride, she bowed her head to keep her smile from Jack's eyes. She couldn't help but be proud of her daughter for outsmarting them. At least Angelica knew she could look after herself. "Well, you've got loads of days left, are we not forgetting my gift to you?" Jack could feel the air grow cold around them, realizing that was the wrong thing to say he quickly changed the subject. "So, how many days till we reach Tortuga my dearest Angelica?" he groveled. "A few days I expect. What do you plan to do once you find her anyway?"
"Well, I thought she might be intregued by a little expedition to one Devil's Triangle, I hear tell there are a few large ships with a plethora of treasures most of which I hope to embezzle and some of which I may offer as a payment if you like for your contributions to said expedition" Jack flashed her his usual charming smile with the added thirst for adventure in his eyes, he made it decidedly difficult for her to remain annoyed at him. "Well then" Angelica smirked, "We best be on our way then"
