"Yeah, I love it. But don't get me sidetracked here! Why were my eyes weird?" he came back.
"Nothing." I said simply. I was positive that he would either freak out, call me a freak, or just shake his head and think I'm on drugs, or all three.
"No, tell me!" he insisted.
"No!" I said, getting louder. He looked surprised and I took a deep breath to get my voice under control.
"No." I said, now a little quieter.
"Why not?" he pushed.
"'Cause.... You'll think I'm crazy." He looked at me like I just told him I was actually a guy.
"You have no idea what I have seen and if I'd tell you, you'd think I'd be on drugs." he mumbled.
"Right. Nothing's crazier than your eyes." I said.
"I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a compliment or an insult..." he talked slowly trying to understand what I meant. I sighed.
"Neither. I saw pictures in them, okay? Scary, creepy ones. There, happy?" I said wearily.
"You what?" he made a face like I just slapped him.
"I said..."
"I know what you said," he interrupted," are you sure?"
"Um... yeah?" I said, unsure what his reaction meant."What did you see?" he asked, leaning forward a little bit.
Did I really want to tell him? I don't know. They way he looked at me made me want to, but something held me back. But what if it's important? What if lives were in danger? What if....
"Okay, fine. I'm gonna to tell you but not here." I said and pulled him towards the exit.
He stammered but didn't resist. When I finally let him go in an alley behind the restaurant he rubbed his wrist.
"Geez, girl you got a strong grip."
"What? No. You just didn't resist." I explained simply and quickly explained everything I saw. The only thing I left out, though, was that the girl was somehow familiar. His face was neutral the whole time but when I described the weird things he winced.
"Wow." he said after I finished.
"Right, I tell you everything you wanted to know and all you say is 'wow'.Wow." I say simply.
"What was I suppos-" his eyes suddenly widened in horror.
"What?" I turned around and saw... I seriously didn't have the faintest clue of what exactly I saw. It had a human body but his head, starting at his shoulders, was a snake and he had red eyes. He hissed loudly and came closer. I could barely hold myself from screaming.
"Alec! What the hell is that!" I yelled and pointed at it. I was unable to move out of shock so he grabbed me threw me on his shoulders and ran. And he was really fast. But so was the snake.
It was catching up more and more and Alec seemed to start getting out of breath.
"Alec. Alec! ALEC!" I said over and over again and when I screamed his name he finally looked back. He saw how close it was and threw me on the floor next to him. I landed uncomfortably on my right arm and a hot pain shot through my shoulder as I slided on the cement the last feet. I tried to sit up and silently cried out when another shot of pain went through my whole arm and flung me back on the ground. I looked up to see Alec with a large dagger that had appeared out of thin air, apparently, and was launching it at the snake-human. It screeched inhumanly when it drilled itself into it's side. Black blood shot out of the wound and dripped onto the ground where it made its way towards me. I tried crawling backwards, away from the creepy, black blood but the pain in both my shoulder and arm stopped me. When it hit my leg it burned my calf with a loud sizzle and this time I actually did scream. It kept flowing and soon it burned its way up to my knee. My screams and whimpers made Alec look at me with a worried face. That one second he wasn't paying attention gave the snake an opportunity to strike, and it hit him with all its might in the stomach. He hurled back and while he was still in the air, the snake picked him back up with its teeth and launched him against a wall where he slid to the floor and lay there motionless.
"Alec!" I screamed and kept repeating his name until my voice gave up but I still kept mouthing his name as if that would make him stand up again like nothing had happened. The thing gave a satisfied hiss and turned its head towards me. I'm next. I looked around for something, anything to defend myself with, but just a look at my leg where there was almost no skin left and etched and hurt like nothing I have ever felt before, my arm that was laying beside me in an angle that couldn't possibly be healthy, and my shoulder where my skin was completely scraped off and was bleeding without pause, I knew that even if I had a laser sword I would be dead meat.
It came closer until he could almost touch me but instead of attacking me he just looked at me curiously. He hissed and when I listened very closely it sounded like words.
"Found girl. Bring her to Demon. Don't hurt her. Don't kill..."
"Oh but you could kill Alec?" I pointed to his body that was lying in a puddle of blood, and barely breathing anymore.
"Demon never said about boy." it hissed and it looked like it wanted to say more but suddenly a black car drove in the alley and stopped in front of the snake-human.
"Ah, finally." it nodded and picked me up with its teeth in the back of my shirt and dragged me over the floor to the car. I whimpered as the flesh of my leg scraped along the cement and shot a wave of pain up my leg that went through my whole body and touched every nerve. He threw in the backseat of the car and climbed into the front seat next to the driver.
If anything, literally anything, is in here that you think I could change please tell me in the comments or anywhere really because I want this story to be perfect, or close to, because I'm planning on doing something with it that will only work if everything is as perfect and 'professional-like' I guess. So, again, please help me!!!! :)
