Doctor Who Season 1

Rose Part 7

(Clive)

I was walking through the shops with my wife and kids, telling them about the Doctor when we walked past a clothes shop. 

"Oh my gosh," my wife said, jumping a little. "I thought they were dummies. Gave me the fright of my life!" 

I looked into the window where I saw all the manekins moving around. My wife thought it was great entertainment but I knew something was wrong. Suddenly one stuck it's arm out, smashed the glass and started walking out. Then all the others did. 

"It's true," I said. "Everything I read, all the stories. It's true!" 

One opened up its hand and shot me. The last thing I heard was the scream from my wife.

(Rose) 

The Doctor was struggling with the manekin holding on to him. "Just go, Rose!" he shouted. "Get out!" 

Parts of the roof were falling off. "The stairs are gone!" I shouted. Mickey and I ran to the TARDIS and tried to open the door. "I haven't got the key!" 

"We're going to die!" Mickey shouted. 

(Jackie)

I was standing at the bottom of the escalator when I saw all the shop window dummies walking around. They knocked over tables and chairs, bumping into people. Then they started shooting people with their hands. I screamed and dropped my handbag as I ran. I ran out of the shopping centre but they were there too, shooting people and cars. Anything that moved, they shot. I hid behind a car and thought I was safe until I heard a smashing behind me. I turned around and saw the dummies from another shop smshing their way through the glass. I screamed and started running again. 

(Rose)

I sat slumped against the TARDIS with MIckey while I watched the Doctor struggling with the manekins. Suddenly I got an idea and stood up, ignoring Mickey's protests. I picked up an axe. "I've got no A levels, no job, no future," I murmured. "But I'll tell you what I have got." I said as I cut a chain and started to swing on it. "Junior levels gymnastic team, I got bronze." I swung down and kicked both of the manekins into the liquid fire. The second one took the vile of anti plastic with it and it spilled into the nesting consciousness. I swung back and the Doctor caught me.

"Now we're in trouble," he said as the nesting consciousness started to explode and we ran to the TARDIS. The Doctor opened it and we all ran in.

(Jackie)

I slumped down infront of another car as the manekins surrounded me. Just as they were about to shoot me, they started acting weird. Walking around in circles and moving strangely. They began walking away and I stood up slowly. I knew that I should run but I stayed there on the spot. They started walking slower and then falling over. They wriggled around on the floor, rolling in circles and waving their arms and legs about. Then gradually, they stopped and I started walking away.

(Rose)

Mickey ran out of the TARDIS as quick as he could. He sat at the other end of the street gawking at me as I stepped out. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and called my mum.

"Rose, don't go out of the house!" she shouted and I laughed. "There were these things..." I didn't listen to the rest, I just hung up and walked over to Mickey. "Fat lot of good you were," I said as I took his hand and helped him up.

The Doctor stood in the doorway of the TARDIS. "Nesting consciousness," he said and clicked his fingers, "easy."

"You were useless in there," I told him. "You'd be dead if it wasn't for me."

He smiled. "Yes, I would. Thank you." He clapped his hands. "Right then, I'll be off. Unless...uh...I don't know, you could come with me? This box isn't just London up you know? You can go anywhere in the universe, free of charge."

"Don't," Mickey said. "He's an alien, he's a thing!"

"He's not invited," the Doctor said, nodding to Mickey. "What do you think? You can stay here. Fill your life with work and food and sleep or you could go well.... anywhere."

"Is it always this dangerous?" I asked.

"Yeah," he nodded.

MIckey hugged me. "Yeah, I can't, I've got to go and find my mum," I said. "And someone's got to look after this stupid lump, so..."

"Okay," the Doctor said after a long silence. "See you around." He stepped into the TARDIS and it started to disappear.

"Come on, lets go," I said quietly to Mickey as I started to walk away. I heard the sound of the TARDIS again and turned around. The door opened and the Doctor stepped out.

"By the way, did I mention? It also travels in time."

I turned to Mickey. "Thanks."

"Thanks for what?" he asked.

"Exactly," I said. I kissed him on the cheek and ran into the TARDIS.
