Nova smiled dreamily as she lounged on the smooth, dewy grass, splotches of green staining her jeans and shirt. above her the sky was a clear, pure blue that stretched above her, dotted with fluffy clouds.
She sighed happily and embraced the gentle breeze. Her eyes slowly drifting shut she let out a breath of content and relaxed on the dewy grass.
"Nova! Hey Nova!"
Her eyes flew open and her mouth grew into a enormous grin and her eyes lit up with a new excitement. She sprung up, shaking grass from her body like a dog and spun on her heel and began scrambling down the hill top on the slick dewy grass.
A peachy golden head of hair appeared over the hill top as she slid towards it. A delicate looking girl her age appeared over the hill, golden hair in a high plat bouncing up and down on her back. Sliding to a stop in front of the panting girl Nova grabbed her in a bone crushing hug.
"Eve!" Nova laughed happily. "Oh my god! How was your examination!?"
She pulled out of the bone crushing hug to get a better look at Eve, grinning and holding her at arms length. Despite being out of breath from the run to the hill top and the smothering hug, Eve was grinning ear to ear. Her petite face was lit up with a glow of happiness and she couldn't stand still."The dojo master let me pass!" Eve squealed, "I got through to training!" She sprung forward suddenly and wrapped her arms around Nova, knocking them both to the soft grass.
"I got in! I got in! I got in!" Eve grinned happily and clutched at Nova's chest.
Nova pushed her off, laughing she gave Eve her hand and pulled her friend up.
"The youngest RHG in training in the village all decade!" Nova congratulated ecstatically. "Now that's an achievement!"
Eve punched Nova's shoulder and her face was flushed in a pretty shade of pink. "There's always you." She mumbled, humbled by her friends praise.
Nova clutched her arm, wincing at her friend blow. A bruise was already setting in on her shoulder.
"Owwwwwww!" she wined "I'm not even in training and I don't even want to be a RHG. I suck at fighting."Eve opened her mouth, then shut it again. ". . . . You're super fast . . . ." she pointed out after a second of hesitation. "And I'm sure the dojo master will teach you how to fight, if you just ask him."
Nova sighed and blew stray hairs out of her eyes in exasperation.
"I've already failed the entrance exam multiple times. I don't want to add another defeat to my belt. Besides, your the RHG fanatic, not me. I don't even like RHG. It's just two powerful dudes fighting it out in the real life equivalence of throwing two action figures at one another." She ranted. Her friend gave a small chuckle. "I wish you weren't always this stubborn."
Nova grinned down at her shorter companion and turned to look over the village.
"Have you told your parents yet?" Nova asked curiously, changing the subject of attention.
She couldn't help but be a little jealous of Eve. Not that she wanted to be an RHG, but honestly, she wanted the admiration of the village as she knew Eve would soon have. Nova had no interesting future. She didn't have a clue about her life while others seemed to have it all planned out.
Eve had a future she knew she wanted and was willing to achieve, but all Nova wanted right now was for others to think she was more that ordinary. To be admired.
"No." Eve shook her head, her peachy golden curls bouncing around her angelic face. "I came to you first."
"Well then," Nova squinted through the honey golden glow of the sun light that bathed the village below in a coat of gold. Turning back to Eve her smile grew impossibly larger. "Let's go tell them."'
Dusting grass and dirt from her Gi*, Eve nodded and began making her way down the mountain. She didn't get far though as Nova slid down past her and begin racing down the hill, mud caking her clothes and laughing ecstatically.
It took Eve a few moments to regain her balance "Oh no you don't" She yelled, a rare competitive flare boiling up as she sprinted down the hill after Nova.

Nova skidded to a halt, panting and coated in mud and grass stains. She had halted to a screeching stop in front of a small cottage, standing stubborn behind tangled wall of tangling plants that blocked it from the view of the village folk. It peeked out from behind layers of plant life and Nova pulled open the rusty, yet freshly painted gate. A long cobble path fringed along each side with blooming flowers led up to a short, well worn door with small stained glass window poking out. A white wooden frame arching over the door that grew thick with well trimmed crimson rose vines.
Nova took a moment to gasp for air and she stumbled forward down the path, wheezing and clutching a stitch in her side. Not a few moments later did she hear the gate creak open and Eve jogged forward. The young girls breath seemed strangely normal and she was itching for action.
". . . . How . . . . Do . . . You . . . Have . . . So . . . Much . . . Energy . . . .?" Nova wheezed to her pouting friend at her lost.
Eve poked her tongue out at a fish-like Nova, who was still gasping for air. "You had a head start."
Nova slapped eve's arm and protested loudly. "Did not!"
Eve giggled and flicked Nova's nose, making Nova's eyes cross to follow her thin fingers. "Did so! You are way too childish sometimes!"
Eve grabbed Nova's had and dragged her up the path and towards the small door that poked out of the pastel white bricks.
Nova reached up to know on the door but a sudden stab of pain shot through her body. An unearthly scream shook her body. A gurgling screech that made Eve jump back in fear.

Sorry for not updating for a while since chapter 3. Stuff (coughhomeworkcough) happened that just stopped me from doing anything.I will do a LOT of cut away to different characters. this will be super annoying for me as this entire thing is improvised. I don't even have a ending. Its all climax and no pay off.
GIVE ME HARSH CRITICISM! BRING ON THE FLAMES OF PURE RAGE! I NEED IT!
