The Accidental Merman: Sequel to The Accidental Mermaid

**~**~** Morgan's P.O.V **~**~** 

"I'm a merman?...."

"Yes... I was trying to decide recently when and how to tell you. I didn't really want it to happen this way..." My mom said.

"Why didn't you tell me when I was younger?"

"Because of what happened years ago when you were born." She said.

"W-.... What do you mean?... What happened when I was born?"

She sighed and looked down.

"Let's all sit down so I can tell you..."

We all went into the living room and sat down on the couch and my mom in the chair.

"So.... What happened?..." I asked.

"When you were born.... I had to give birth to you above the sea...." She said.

"Why on land?"

"Because your father is a land person.... Not like us.... But he left me when he figured out what I was. He didn't know until I decided to tell him when he proposed.... But he got mad and left.... A few months later I found out I was pregnant with you.... So I went back to the sea until it was time to give birth to you. But my father, your grandfather, was someone special where I come from so he was very upset when I told him I was pregnant.... Especially because your father is a land person.... So he told me that after I had you that I had to leave and not come back..."

"W-why would he do that?"

"Because he didn't understand the feelings that I had... He told me that it wouldn't work out and it kind of didn't and he was right... So... Yeah.... But when it came time to have you... I had to go on land and I went to a hospital. I had you and.... it was the happiest moment of my life.... You were the best thing that ever happened to me.... You were so beautiful and so perfect and I didn't want anything to happen to you... In the morning of the next day I got released and I went back to sea so that  he could meet you.... Hoping that... him meeting you would change his thoughts and he would let me stay.... But it didn't... He took one look at you and just told me to leave..."

I just sat there and looked down. Angelique wiped a tear from her eye and continued to listen.

"B-before I left the sea, I was reaching the end of the border area of the kingdom and a person captured me and you and it turns out it was a woman that your grandfather knew but he thought she had died long ago.... She went on to tell me that I would've been hers if your grandfather hadn't left her for another woman and that he had broke her heart... So she wanted to get him back through me..."

"What did she do?..." Angelique asked.

"She kept going on and on... Then she noticed I had Morgan in my arms.... She said she was going to do something to me, but she decided to go for him.... I hugged him against my chest and she lifted her hands up and muttered something in a different language.... I remember I started crying and ask what she did.... All she said was that when I go on land with you, you'll be the way you are on land for a long time... Maybe even forever...."

"S-so she-"

"She put a curse on Morgan?" Angelique asked.

"Yes.... That he would never get his tail ever again...." My mom said and looked down.

"Then how did he get the tail? How did he get powers and everything?" Angelique asked.

"I don't know. That's why I was so confused but happy that he had his powers and tail. I never though I'd be able to see that day..."
