Banished (Important A/N at the end)

I found myself sitting in my room, alone and confused. 'What was it that made Alois do that...? Was it yet another sign of human gratitude? If so, then why did it hurt so much?' My head was pounding and my hands were clammy. Before I could think more on it though, the door slammed open and Claude entered.

'Smash it with a shoe!' Was what first came to my head, knowing very well what type of demon Claude was. I batted the thought away though, sure that it would upset Alois. He narrowed his eyes at me, "why is your face completely red? It's unsightly." I frowned as he continued, "no matter. Prepare yourself. His highness is waiting patiently for you to come eat."

He opened the door and held it for me, "hurry up you damned cat." He growled, eyes flashing red, "one with such great misfortune must be a black cat to land with so many demons." He muttered, shooting me a look when he saw I had not moved. He walked over and grabbed my wrist, yanking me up and causing me to yowl in pain.

"Claude! What is going on in there!?" Alois' frantic voice questions as his scent nears the room. "Stand up!" Claude hissed and pulled me up. I whimpered and did as told, tears in my eyes. Alois walked into the room before Claude could comment and immediately ran to my side. "Ria! What has happened?!" He questioned worriedly.

I look at Alois with hurt eyes, "I-I-..." I couldn't find my voice, not with Claude standing right behind me. Alois frowned at me, but his eyes didn't go dark. "Ria, come with me." he ordered and I did not dare disobey, what if I was left to the spiders?

He dragged me out the room, thankfully without the demon following. Once we stopped down the hall after a few turns, he whipped around and grabbed my cheeks, pressing his forehead to my own. "Tell me what happened Ria, was it Claude?"

I'm silent for a moment but soon nodded. "He hurt you?" Alois growled, pulling me close and pecking my lips. A shiver of revulsion ran through me but Alois mistakes it for a good response. "I'll protect you Ria." Alois promised, nuzzling my hair.

A purr comes out my mouth when I force it, Alois seemingly happy I did that. "Lets go eat, I'll give that spider an earful about how we treat our guests." Alois growled taking my hand and dragging us along.

Glancing at the hand Claude had grabbed, I winced, noting how it was an unsightly shade of purple and blue. "Bring us our food!" Alois clapped his hands when we arrived in the dining room. He ran forward and pulled out a chair for me to sit in.

I tilt my head a little, usually I have to be seated by myself, immediately or I am beaten. 'One of the best ways to train an animal.' I recalled Claude telling Alois after the second time I had come to eat in the same dining room as Alois. Alois only nodded, seeming conflicted but still leaning towards Claude's judgement more than his own.

Now Claude looked a bit peeved as he pushed his glasses up his nose a bit, watching us as I sat down and thanked Alois. "Today I have prepared a special meal for Lady Ria and your highness." Claude announced and walked forward, a white towel rested on his arm. He reached forward and took off the tops of our plates. "Wooow Claude!" Alois exclaimed excitedly, my eyes stuck on my own plate.

It made me turn a sickening green as I stared at it. It was what looked to be something that was taken out of the trash and mashed up together. "Ew! Claude! What the hell is that shit?!" Alois asked, obviously angry about the food presented to me. Claude smirked, "just something a rat like Lady Ria would eat." Claude stated calmly and I clenched the ruffles of my dress in my petite hands tightly.

Smack.

The noise was loud and echoed in the room. My eyes widened as I looked up to see that Alois had gotten out of his chair and smacked Claude so hard that the demon's cheek grew red in the shape of a hand print. "Hannah, prepare the carriage. Ria and I are going out to eat today." He announced, Hannah snapping out of her shock first and herding the triplets out to prepare the carriage as Alois ordered.

"Ria, come with me. Claude, I do not want to see you until you've corrected that attitude against Ria, that is an order." Alois ordered strongly and walked over to me, taking my hand and pulling me up. He led me out the room and the last glimpse I had of Claude left me terrified.

I'd never seen an expression more suited for a demon.
