Prologue

Ashley Gonzales is the new girl in town. She's a volleyball MVP and a track star. She's having a hard time settling in. But she soon starts to realize that high school-or life, isn't quite the same as her old one back in New York.

Chapter 1: New in Town

I wasn't enjoying the long flight from New York to LA. I guess I didn't really have a choice since my dad got transferred to LA. He promised that this would be the last time we would be moving, but it was hard to believe that. I promised my mom and dad I wouldn't be such a hyporcrite about the move. I'll just do what my mom says and give LA a chance.

We finally made it to LA after a long and boring flight. The house was nice. It's a lot bigger than our house back in New York. I picked one of the biggest rooms in the house and unpacked everything I had. After I finished unpacking, I sat down on my bed and looked around my new room.

"Ashley! Time for dinner! Wash up and come down!", my mom called.

"Okay Mom!"

I could smell the aroma from the food. Great...Italian. I washed my hands and went downstairs.

"Italian again? We just had this the other night.", I complained.

"Sorry. I know you don't like it but that's all we could get at the store."

"Great. Did Mikey drop off my car yet?"

"Yes. It should be outside in the driveway."

"Okay. I'm going to go to bed, I've had a long day."

"Okay. Don't forget Ash, you have school in the morning."

"Yeah, I know. Goodnight guys."

I trudged up the stairs to my room and got ready for bed. I had the strangest dream. I dreamt I was in the school but I was alone with someone else. A boy. I couldn't make out his face. But I had the strangest feeling that the boy from my dream...wasn't exactly normal.
