Rapmonster~ POV
-----------------------------------------------------------After I sang a "duet" with a blonde guy, I took a break from karaoke and sat down. I could go for a drink, but I knew I had to walk home alone since my roommate wasn't here. I don't want to make a wrong decision .
"Too bad Ben wasn't here," I heard one of my friends say as they chugged on a beer.
Ben was the person who I was sharing a home with. He's also my ride. It was getting late and I was supposed to be home about an hour ago when my shift ended at the hotel, but my friends wanted me to sing with them. Well, it's mostly to rap. I gotta say, I can spit fire.
"Dope" was one of my favorite songs to rap in and I was glad my opponent could keep up with me. To be honest, he was really good to, even though he was drunk most of the time.
I chewed on my last chicken wing and downed a grape soda. I was finished with "dinner".
I stood up to sit at the bar.
Maybe just one shot.
Fudge it.
"Hayley," I called out to the bartender, "Could I have one berry mojito?"
She raised her brow and nodded. She took out a metal canister and started mixing.
"I though you quit," I mentioned.
"Ha, this is my last shift. I'm not cut out for this lifestyle anyways," she replied while pouring the concoction into a small glass.
I took the drink and examined it. It was purplish- maroon color. It was dark color, almost like wine. I leaned my head back and drank it.
It was quite fizzy and tart, but it was balanced with sweet rum. Of course, there was a bitter kick to it at the end. I paid my fee and headed to the lobby of the BTS hotel.
Behind the desk was a mini hallway that lead to an employee closet. I searched through the occupied hangers for my jacket. There was a lot of workers here and we all had to share the small space. As I kept looking for my dang jacket, I heard something booming? It was like fireworks?
Well that would make sense for why people were "celebrating" loudly.
I searched for about ten minutes and that's when it hit me.
Oh yeah, I forgot. I left it in the bar.
At this moment I heard police sirens coming from outside.
It's probably someone loitering or something.
I ignored the loud sirens and returned back to the bar. Surprisingly, the bar was evacuated and "vacant". I was certain that closing times were later. You could still hear the sirens and the karaoke music being played. I walked over to the machines and turned them off.
Now the place was silent and dim. I wore my jacket once I found it. I did a quick check around the bar and noticed the trash was full.
Ugh.
As I walked closer, I almost slipped on something dark red and wet. I took a towel from the bar and cleaned off my shoe. I tossed the towel in the garbage, before I tied the bag.
C'mon Hayley, the least you could do is change the trash.
I brought the trash bag out to the back door and placed it on top of the dumpster. I locked the back door and started my walk home. Normally, I would walk on the side where the hotel was facing, but I guess I could just go around the block later.
As I barely walked a couple meters, my whole body was yanked into an alleyway. I screamed as I realized I was being pushed against the brick wall.
"Shhhhhh! It's me Rapmonster, it's Ben!" the annoyed person shouted as he put his hand over my mouth.
I turned around and I backed up into the wall again.
No, I swear it was Bunny from the Paper Gang.
I glanced around to see if I could escape, but when I looked back he took off his mask to verify that it was Ben.
It was Ben.
"What the heck man!? You literally got no jams!" I yelled at him. "Why are you even cosplaying as Bunny?"
"Cause I'm not," he said. He reached out of his pocket and there was a blue gem ring.
No.
"No way bro, you gotta be kidding me. Look I can't help you on this, you know I have to tell the police!" I panicked.
"Rapmonster c'mon, you can keep a secret," Ben whispered.
I gulped as he stared at the ring as if he was proud to have it. My roommate was a criminal. I shook my head.
"Nope, yo I don't wanna go to jail for this, I'm sorry but I don't wanna get in trouble"
Am I being a jerk?
No. This is the right thing. That's what they taught you at the orphanage. You can't make wrong decisions. That's what Mrs. Johwa would've said.
"I was afraid you would say something like that, but now that you know-"
" NO!" I screamed again.
The Paper Gang haunts South Korea, especially Seoul. Being involved in these affairs would be basically just signing your death wish. The Paper Gang was malicious and notorious. They would do anything to get their hands on money.
I escaped his grasp and tried to run out of the galley. I hope someone would see or hear me. My leg was caught by something and I crashed.
Ben, -no, Bunny pulled me up by the collar.
"Rapmonster, you gotta walk home earlier to avoid these type of things"
Before I could retort back, I felt my head throbbed as he violently smashed my head into the rough wall two times.
Enough to make me black out.
