No one knew where Zack was. Blake tried texting him, over and over. There was no response. It didn't even say that the text was read. He was starting to get worried. It was typical of Zack to read and not respond, but to not read 25 text messages? That was insane.
Blake brushed it off, thinking that he was grounded. He had to be. It was Monday morning and Blake was still staying at Katy's house. He sighed and got up. Blake walked across the room and into the bathroom. He had his Dad bring over his toothbrush, clothes, and school stuff, so he was all set for school. Blake brushed his teeth and changed his clothes. He walked out of the bathroom and walked up to Katy's room. He knocked and walked in.
"Good morning, slut." He said dramatically.
Katy was dressed and she was brushing her bright blond hair in front of her mirror. She rolled her eyes. She brushed her bangs to the side.
"Good morning." She said sarcastically. Blake gave her an impatient look. "Ugh! Good morning, Chanel."
"That's better, #5." Blake said. They both laughed. Katy put the brush on her dresser and grabbed her backpack and looked at him.
"To hell we go." She said rolling her eyes. Blake rolled his eyes as well. They walked downstairs and into her kitchen. She grabbed two granola bars.
"Here, we need to keep our nutrition up!" She said loudly.
"Thanks, Mom!" Blake laughed as he grabbed the granola bar.
"Oh sweety," Katy's mom walked into the room, "you guys are going on a 3 day school trip! It's for Biology class. Your dad dropped off a dufflebag with more clothes, Blake! I packed a dufflebag for you too, Katy."
"Thank you!" Blake said.
"Anytime Blake." Katy's mom smiled.
Blake walked into the living room and grabbed the dufflebag. Katy walked in with hers and they walked out the house. They walked across the yard to Katy's car. Blake put his dufflebag in the backseat, then got in the passenger seat. Katy got in the drivers seat and started the car. She pulled out of the driveway and drove to school.
They arrived at school. Katy parked in the student parking lot. Blake grabbed his backpack and dufflebag, so did Katy. The police were still at school from the previous murder of Stephanie.
They walked by a detective talking to an officer and the sheriff.
"We might be dealing with a serial killer. But we have no motive as to why the killer is murdering. " Blake heard the detective say. The words made Blake's stomach sink. Was that true? It couldn't be. It definitely is not a serial killer. Right? Katy looked at Blake, wide eyed. She heard him too.
Blake and Katy walked into the school and waited at the front doors for Hazel. Blake texted her and told her to hurry up.
"Hey guys!" They heard a kind voice say behind them. They turned around. Iria was standing there with her shiny black hair cascading over her shoulders. She smiled and was holding her dufflebag for the trip.
"Hey Iria!" Katy said, smiling. Blake could tell the smile was fake, while Iria's smile was actually genuine.
"Ready for the trip? It's going to be so fun! I heard we're going to Lake Clearwater!" She said excitedly.
"Really?" Blake asked.
"Yeah for like, Environmental studies or something. Well, see ya in class!" She smiled and walked towards Biology class. Blake and Katy waited at the front doors for Hazel.
"I could tell your smile was fake. You fake whore." Blake laughed.
"You heard the detective. This could be a serial killer. I trust no one." She said seriously, lowering her voice into a whisper as more students came through the door.
"But you trust me?" Blake asked, "I trust you."
"Yeah I do. Trust us," she put up four fingers, representing them, Hazel, and Zack. They didn't know that Zack was dead, though. "But trust nothing."
Blake nodded. "Trust us. Trust nothing."
Just then, Hazel came through the doors. She was struggling with her dufflebag. Blake tried to help her. It weighed like 5,000 tons.
"Jesus, what's in this." Blake asked dragging the bag, as they walked to Biology class.
"A portible wifi generator." Hazel said smiling.
"What the hell is that?" Katy asked.
"What do you think it is? It's a portible wireless connection generator." Hazel said, a little annoyed.
"Why would we need Wifi, Hazel?" Blake asked.
"Uh.. to keep up with the Fairy Tale comics? Duh." Hazel said, now fully annoyed.
Blake laughed, rolling his eyes, "You have data, right?"
Hazel looked at him. "Yeah, uh, I brought it just in case.." Hazel forgot about data.
They walked into Biology class and there were only about 15 people.
"I decided to choose my most responsible students to go on this trip." The teacher said. Blake looked around the class. There were about 3 jocks, 3 nerds, 5 cheerleaders, and the three as well as Iria.
"Very diverse." Blake whispered to Hazel and Katy.
"Have you guys seen Zack lately?" Hazel asked, worried. They shook their heads.
Then Blake got a text. It was from the unknown number. It read, 'This trip is going to be so much fun (:'
