Jamie's POV

I was walking with Gavin around this small town near the pack camp. He was talking to me about his boyfriend, Benji. They've been dating for about a year now and they're starting to get really, really close with everything. They might even move in together after this year.

Gavin wanted to go to this bookstore down here that I wasn't interested in, so I told him that I probably would go to a different store while he does his thing.

"Where are you going to go? I'll just go in there once I'm finished." Gav asked me, standing next to the front doors of the bookstore.

I looked around the town and pointed to a store. "I'll be in the record store."

He nodded and disappeared into the store. I walked across the street. The little record shop was playing Green Day and I was glad that someone still appreciated their talent.

There weren't that many people here, so I went to an stack of records and started to flip through them.Spectrum of Death, Run (Don't Walk Away), Harrow/Nautilus, Killin' It, American Beauty... I went through a lot of records.

I heard a tiny crash and my reflexes kicked in as I grabbed a vinyl that was about the fall. Two were already on the ground, thanks to some guy who was standing in front of me.

I looked over the vinyl and smiled. "The Beatles, nice."

"Yeah, they're pretty good." The guy who was standing in front of me said. I handed the vinyl back to him and looked up to meet his eyes. When I did, I froze.

His beautiful eyes made my heart stop and my eyes to widen. I felt tingles throughout my body because our fingers were slightly touching next to each other on the vinyl.

"H-h-hi." I whispered out.

He seemed speechless as his body went through the same thing mine did. He had sweat starting to form on his forehead and I smiled, softly.

"I-I'm Alex." He whispered.

"Jamie." I whispered back.

He suddenly gave me a confused look and took the vinyl from my hand. "Jamie? As in Jamie Nance?"

"Uh, yeah." I said. How did he know who I was?

"You're in the White Water Pack." He said, lowly, so no one else would hear.

That's when it clicked. Of course! He was the beta! "Oh my fucking gosh, I'm so sorry, sir. You're the beta, I completely forgot."

He chuckled. "It's okay, Jamie. Don't worry about it."

"It's really nice to actually meet you." I said, chuckling.

"Yeah, you too."

"Y-you like records?" I asked, trying to keep the conversation up because I never wanted to stop talking to him.

"Yeah, I just needed to get away for a bit and Jack suggested this place." He said.

Oh, fuck, he was talking about the alphas. That's too high of a rank for me to be hanging around, in my opinion. I was way too sarcastic and flamboyant for them.

"Jamie, let's go." Gav said, coming to stand next to me with his phone in his hand with a huge smile on his face. I cleared my throat and he looked up at Alex. "Oh, hi, sir. How are you?"

"I'm good. Gavin, is it?" Alex asked.

"It is."

"Uh, Jamie, can I take you home instead? Or would you rather go with Gavin?"
