Alex's POV
I ran into Matthew's house with my phone in my hand. Kade and Joey gave me a confused look as I took the steps two at a time, trying to get to Matthew's bedroom. Once I barged in, Jack pulled away from his mate's lip as he was straddling his body.
"Alex, what the hell?" Matthew yelled at me.
"He's gone." I whispered.
He sat up, which pushed Jack to the side of him on the bed. "What're you talking about?"
"I-I let him go with Xavier because he s-said that he could get a confession out of him. Now, h-he's gone."
"Where'd they go?" Jack asked.
"They went to the mall, but look." I said, handing them my phone, which showed them the text that I had just received from my mate.
Matthew looked up at me with wide eyes. "We should've listened to you."
"What's going on?" Kade asked, walking into his son's bedroom.
"Show them." Matthew ordered and I handed Kade the phone. Him and his husband read over the message and looked up at me.
"What're we going to do?" Joey asked his son.
"What fight did you guys have this afternoon?" Jack asked me.
"It wasn't a fight! It was a small argument because he told me that I wasn't doing enough to keep him safe. I was waiting for Xavier to let something spill or whatever."
"He knew what you were doing then. He knew you were waiting for him to make a move, so he must've changed his plan. He must've taken him, so you couldn't catch him." Matthew said.
"Can you contact him?" Kade asked.
"My messages won't deliver to his phone, so I assume it's off or something."
"What about your bond?" Jack asked.
"I c-can't reach him." I whispered.
"Alex, you need to sit down." Joey said, ushering me to sit on Matthew's bed.
I put my head in my hands as I thought at what he was going to do to Jamie. Would Xavier hurt him? Would he change his mind, so Jamie will want to stay with him? Is he gonna get food? Water? Sleep? Thousands of thoughts were running through my mind and I couldn't stop any of them.
"I know you're scared, but we're gonna do everything that we can to get him back." Jack whispered.
"I need to call his mom." I whispered, standing up. I walked out of the room until I was outside on their front porch. I took my phone out, staring at my lock screen for a few minutes at the picture of Jamie and I at dinner one night where he insisted on getting the perfect picture of us.
I called his mom and I knew she would pick up because she promised that she would answer every call she gets, in case it has to do with Jamie's safety. "Hello?"
"Jamie's gone." I blurted out.
"What do you mean he's gone? What happened?" She yelled at me.
"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have let him go with him." I whispered.
"Go where with who? Who took my son?"
"Xavier. He said that he needed new shoes or whatever and he wanted Jamie to go with him."
"You just let him go?" She snapped.
"No! Jamie said that he should go because he thought he would get a confession out of him. I tried to stop him, but he guilted me into it."
