I rolled my eyes, and continued to tap on the steering wheel as Gryffin completed his song solo. Hs just put on Your Disposal by Cattle Decapitation, for some reason and I got the privilege to hear his rare, AMAZING screaming voice. It was like he sung the actual song. Awesome.
Cruize DID fall asleep sometime earlier, only to wake up when Gryffin turned on that song. He kept looking between Gryf and I. When Gryffin shut up, Cruize just stared at me. It was getting uncomfortable.
Minotaur by FleshGod Apocalypse came on, and I hummed along. Gryffin randomly started to head bang, mimicking drums and guitar at random times. I giggled, and focus on the road. Just in time.
'HOLY SHIT!' I braked the Jeep just in time, right before I ran over the crashed car on the highway. 'Oh shit oh shit oh shit-' I ran over, still whisper screaming.
The vehicle was flipped in its back, the hood crushed and all of the windows smashed. I heard faint wheezing despite the hissing and snapping of the demolished car.
'Oh FUCK.' I cursed, rushing to the drivers side, ignoring Gryffins yells to come back and to leave it. I completely blocked him out as I scanned the upside down seat through the smashed glass of the window.
I saw the victim, and my heart clenched. I KNEW I had to help him. I ripped off the crushed door, without the thought of how, and pressed my fingers against his neck. I felt the faintest pulse, and I breathed a sigh of relief. He might be able to be saved.
His heartbeat increased, and he pulled in sharp, croaked breaths. His eyes rolled widely behind his unconscience eyelids. My throat constricted when I saw his cheeks sink in. He rasped in oxygene, and his body convulsed. My heart almost lifted when I saw he almost come to.
His eyelids shot open, and he stared at me , twisting his head and neck so he looked at me rightside up. His neck skin ripped, and blood poured out before screeching without seeming to notice the blood;
'HAIL THE BLOODY RED MOTHER!'
His eyes rolled back in his head, and he sagged visibly in his upsidedown seat, head flopping back down. Something injected itself into my fingertips, and my whole body soared with energy. But I allowed my mind to bring on the numbness. I felt as though I knew the now dead man all his life.
I pried my frozen fingers away from his now stiff neck. My entire body was in shock, paralysed to the spot. My arms dropped limply to my sides. I just witnessed a death. Up in first row.
Swallowing harshly, and clutching my throat in one hand and my stomach in the other, I staggered back to the Jeep.
Gryf stood there, leaning against the hood, ready to rip me a new one, with a scowl on his face.
Knitting his dark eyebrows together, he saw my expression, and his face softened considerably. He gently pulled me into an actual hug, stroking my hair. I hugged his waist, and sobbed into his shirt. What the FUCK just happened.
My back clentched, and my shoulders tensed. My stomach churned, and I hugged Gryf tighter, breathing in his cologne.
After about three minutes or so, he gently kissed the top of my head, and pulled me to the passenger side of the Jeep.
I stumbled in, and slumped down in the soft seat. I held my head in my hands, and wiped my face with one of my sleeves. Cruize leaned over the seat and licked my hair. I forced a small smile, and scratched his neck.
He shoved his head closer to me, and I laced my fingers into his fur. His body quivered as he rumbled his odd purr, and licked my cheek.
Gryf opened his door, and climbed in, a skeptical look on his face as he glanced over the steering wheel. He then stared at me worriedly.
