'But they do nothing about the mirrors,'
'But they stop everything else now please put them on.'
'Ok, if it will help.'
'Honey you will be able to look at other reflective objects like glass. Glass will be see through no reflection. Just no mirrors. They don't work on mirrors'
'Mom I'm a freak. People think I'm a vampire because I haven't looked in a mirror or anything reflective for 2 years.'
'Have you told Keean?'
'No, but we have known each other for 4 years and it's time to tell him, right?'
'Yes you should darling. Then he will trust you.'
'But then I'm giving him my biggest secret, part of my soul. He could have a blackmail advantage if we fight!'
'But if he's a true friend he won't tell.'
I breathed in deeply and walked over to his house.

'Ok, Keean. Every time I look into a mirror or anything with a reflective surface I see a glimpse of my future. 1 second equals a day. 3 seconds a week and 5 seconds a months, 10 seconds a year and so on. But the people in it and what they touch become hazy and I can't see them. Also I have these glasses for when we start school soon and they will make it that I will not see the future and completely freeze up when I look at anything reflective. Anything but mirrors. They don't work on them. So if I look at a mirror and completely freeze up you know what to do. Snap your fingers or something.'
That was the best day of my life. My BFF trusted me. And knew my deepest and darkest secret. He was in possession of my soul. My very life source. But enough being so dramatic. For now...
'Hey, Robyn. Does it hurt? When you, you see the future.'
'No, but I freeze dead. I don't blink. These glasses stop me seeing the future In anything reflective exept mirrors. I don't know why but I can still see the future in mirrors.'
'Please explain it in more detail. So I understand.'
'Ok, if I freeze on the spot please help me to keep walking and snap out of it. Ok. If look into a mirror and see the future I can see what will happen but everything is blurred. I don't know why. Maybe because I have not fully developed my power or something like that. Oh and the power can't go away so you must help me if I have a blackout. That's what I call it. I can also get stuck in the future, then I will just be a statue forever.'
'A blackout? I like it. Ok, I swear on the secret oath that I will not tell anyone. Now would you like to have a Sleepover?'
'Yeah, sure. Let me get my stuff.' I ran all the way home but that was not that far because I lived next door. We have been neighbors for as long as I can remember. Which is like 5 years. But I only became friends with him at the age of 3. We do everything together.

Flashback
We were in the garden 2 days ago. His back garden was big. It was huge with a swimming pool in one corner and A trampoline in the other. In the middle of the garden was a huge oak tree. Hundreds of years old. We were on the swings in the far left corner. I was visiting him for the first time. We had just moved in next door and we were visiting them to get to know him. At first I hated him. But then we bag an to play and we became friends. We were playing tag around the oak tree when his mom came inside and called for lunch. We had tasty toasted cheese sandwiches and a salad on the side. We ate quickly to resume playing. I took his toy and we had a little argument. He landed up biting me. His mom called my mom. She said it was love at first bite. From that moment on we became the best of friends. In nursery school, 2 year later and we were 3. We went to the same nursery school and we became that cute little boyfriend girlfriend couple. It was so cute. We did everything together from playing to capturing the jungle jim. We were always seen together.
Now here I was looking at him. Telling him my secret. Me. A four year old.
can I see what you look like if you look at a mirror?'
'Ok but only 2 seconds. Pull me away after that.'
'OK, now follow me. I have a mirror in my bedroom.'
'Oh and Keean. I'm very vulnerable when I do it so you will have to protect me if it happens in the future.'
'I promise on the friendship oath. From now and forever.'
I walked slowly to his bedroom and looked into the mirror. I froze. Stopped breathing. My eyes stuck open. 1.....2 he pulled me away. Had it only been 2 seconds? It felt like a day. Wait.....that's because I saw a day? No wonder.
'Well what ya see?'
'I saw you and me. I saw your dad arrive home from work and...'
I didn't want to tell him. Gulp. I swallowed hard.
'And what?'
'I'm sorry I just can't say!'
I ran for the door and all the way home. I know messing with the future was bad and would never do it. But what I saw will change his future forever. He would find out tonight what will happen in 5 minutes to someone he loves very much.
