How do I process this? Part 2. Present day

I unfroze and took a step back. Bewildered.
'H..how did you do that?'
'Like I said its my power.'
'Don't people see it and think your a freak?'
'No cause I conceal it.'
If she said I had a power what could it be. Super speed, controlling water or maybe that scream had something to do with it. I might have a voice like that super heroine her name was Canary? I think. I could scream like that so I think that's my power.
'Um.. Tanya ?' Too late now to decide against telling her.
'Yes?'
'I screamed earlier and it shattered all the windows.'
'Go on.'
'Also when I saw that man in the hallway I said get back and he did then said that my power would not help me later.'
'This is bad. You even more powerful than I thought!' She started speaking that language again.
'English please!'
'Sorry. But we need to take you downstairs.'
'Tanya theses no downstairs this is the lowest floor.'
'This is my house. There's a downstairs. To the elevator!'
'You have an elevator?'
She said nothing but walked over to the book shelf and pulled a boring old dictionary down and it opened into an elevator. What?! We got in and went to level -123 how many floors did she have? They were all labeled. Infirmary, weapon storage, food, bunker and finally the secret chamber.

We stepped out into a big room with metal floors,roof and walls. We came to a big macine that looked like a helmet with lots and lots of wires. Tanya put it on my head.
Beep beep beep.
The light glowed red then displayed on the little screen.

              Unable to read mind. Unable to tell power. Unable to calculate.

'Well that solves that problem. Let's go back upstairs and unpack.'
'How did it solve it. The thing couldn't even tell my powers or read my mind! How does that help!?'
'It means your minds too strong. Meaning you have telekinesis! Yay. That's a very rare and powerful one. Hasn't existed since the first special human. Or you have a blank mind. Meaning you know nothing. But that's nothing to matter about. Let's unpack.'
'Your acting so strange. Your telling me I'm a person with a power that hasn't existed since the first person with powers? Do you know how crazy that sounds?'
'I do. Your power is supposed to be a myth. If it exists then that means....this is bad!'
'Why do you keep saying that?'
'Cause it is bad!'
'Well then what so bad this time?'
'There's a myth that if you connect two specific powers together then the people become even more powerful. If I connect my powers with someone with dark powers then I would be more powerful. You have to find that person.'
'What about you? Have you found that person with the dark powers yet?'
'Yes!'
'Who then? Who has dark powers?'
'My brother.' She said quietly.
'Brother? You have a brother!'
'Yes, he lives up town.'
'How come I never knew about him?' Now I was freaking out.
'He doesn't like the light. We're opposites. So he doesn't like my aura says it hurts him. Same goes for me. But we are supposed to be there for each other.'
'Ok so how do I learn to control my powers?'
'I have a training level.'
'Of course you do. This house has everything.'
'After school and homework we will practice then you will master it.'
Then we got back into the elevator and waited another 2 minutes for it to get back to the top. Why couldn't it go faster. The elevator luckily had nice music. Not that classic elevator music but pop songs. That helped. As we got back to the ground floor someone was at the door way. He was wearing the clothes like the shadow person.
'I thought he couldn't get in!' I said turning to Tanya.
'Say something.' Said Tanya very calmly.
'Ah.. Take off your hood? Please.' The man took off his hood to reveal a person that looked like Tanya.
'Hey sis, this must be Ally. How'd she do that?'
'She's one of us.' Said Tanya with her arms crossed. 'How'd you get in? I thought the light hurt you.'
'It does but it's bare able this time.'
'Good for you!'
'Hello, I'd like to know who this is?'
'This is Shaun, he's my brother. If you can see, he's my twin.'
'Nice to meet you, Shaun. So why are you here?'
'I heard my cousins visiting. Also I sensed you guys endangered. Did you know there's a guy outside?'
'Yes, he followed Ally from London and...'
'He killed my mother.' I said softly.
'How come Amelia didn't use her powers?'
'I don't know.'
'My mom had powers? What were they?'
'She had the power to make her skin like steel and become invisible.'
'Did my dad have any powers?'
'No, he didn't have any. But he knew about your mom.'
'Why would that guy kill my mom?'
'She was your guardian. Your mom. '
'So because of me my mom is dead. She was protecting me?' I couldn't bare the feeling that my mom had died cause of me. I ran upstairs to my room. I plopped down on the bed. Somehow my powers kicked in again and I locked the door.
'Please open up .' Said Tanya in a low, concerned voice.
'I want to be left alone.'

The next day

School today. I put on jeans, a T-shirt, takkies and flannel. That was all I could manage to put on. I was not feeling creative or even willing to try. Tanya drove me to school. I got out and walked across the quad. The quad was like a park. It had a road in the middle leading t other central fountain. Grass lined the sides with some small trees. I walked across the quad. I felt like all the eyes were on me. Some were. I think at that very moment I looked Goth cause of my make up.
'Are you Ally, the exchange student from England?'
'Yes that's me, what your name?'
'I'm Robyn, I was assigned to show you around.'
