18 years old

Unfamiliar faces.
Unfamiliar surroundings.
An unfamiliar vibe.

Harry was terrified.

And Vik was in love with it.

It was all new to the blond. He went almost everywhere with Vik. They went shopping on Mondays, they went to dinner on Fridays, they even went to doctors and dentists appointments together - which were almost always on a Sunday. But Harry skipped Tuesday's.

He always skipped Tuesday's.

Because this is what lay install for him if he didn't:

A night of pot, pizza and a stoned best friend.

As Vik pulled himself into conversation with an unfamiliar group of men, Harry watched in horror as his best friend grabbed a lighter.

He wouldn't let him do this alone, not whilst he was there.

Even though Harry knew that his cinnamon star did this every time he set foot in this place, it felt wrong to let him do it alone.

This time around, it felt like it would end badly.

So Harry pushed past crowds of buzzed bodies, and made his way towards Vik and the strangers he was laughing with.

"Glad you decided to join us." Vik grinned, and took a drag from the stick between his fingers.

"Aw, Vikky brought a newbie! What's his name?"

The tallest blond spoke out, neck littered with fading hickeys and bite marks that he didn't care to cover up.

"This is Harry."

"And would Harry care to smoke it out with us?"

Then the boy beside the blond started to talk, eyes bloodshot, lips pierced and arms covered in tattoos.

The blond didn't realise that the nameless punk was talking to him, and an attempts at a comforting gaze from the stranger lay resting on him.

Harry first thought was to deny, but two things changed his mind.

The first was the promise made to himself. He told himself he wouldn't let Vik do this alone, and he didn't wish to back down from that.

And the next was the encouraging squeeze that Vik gave him as they laced their hands together.

So Harry took the joint Vik was holding out to him, took it between his lips, and inhaled.

Unfamiliar faces.
Unfamiliar surroundings.
An unfamiliar vibe.

Harry wasn't so terrified anymore.
