After walking pass a few rooms,Elizabeth realised that they weren't going to the kitchen. Curiosity and a pinch of worry stood by her.

"Kevin why aren't we going to the kitchen?"

He spoke without turning his head," Because the cold stuff aren't stored in the kitchen. It's stored in the cold room."

Cold room?

The temperature dropped immediately as they entered a corridor which lead to a cream colored room. It had a wall in half of it with a double door in the center. A ginger color haired boy was standing over a medium sized igloo, shaking, despite the thick coat he wore, trying to get it opened. He rubbed his glove covered hands together harshly. Elizabeth placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey you're freezing. Go get something warm before you collapse".

"I don't need your sympathy or help", he spat.

He jerked her hand from his shoulder and resumed his position.

She took a step back at his words then looked at Kevin. As soon as she noticed the goosebumps on his skin she turned to Gracey. She was shivering slightly. Her grip on Elizabeth's hand however, told her she didn't want to leave. She stooped down to her.

"Gracey go back to the hall. Your cold"

She shook her head no.

"Please go. I promise to get you your snow cone"

She looked into her eyes," Promise?"

"Promise".

Elizabeth watched as the little girl hurriedly skipped through the passage and out of sight. She turned to see Kevin staring at her again before averting his eyes to the ginger color haired boy.

"Um Kevin ill go get the ice. You......can help him", she said, forcing the hurt from the boys actions earlier from her voice as she motioned towards him.

He shook his head lightly, not looking at her but at the boy over the igloo, with a concerned- confused face.

Elizabeth walked to the small stand in the right corner of the room adjacent to the door. A coat rack stood beside it and an opened box with gloves. After retrieving a cup from the stack on the shelf, she quickly opened the door and went in.

The familiar sensation and satisfaction returned to her as the cold air wrapped itself around her, easing the hurt slightly, but enough.

She glanced around the room.

There were meat kind on a board shelf to her left. On her right,a few frost bitten carton boxes laid and beside them was a stand full of different containers. She noticed the deep freezer in front of her. She opened it. Taking out a container with ice with one hand, her silver knife materialized in the other.

She felt the power rushing from her chest towards her head. Her eyes turned icy blue as she scanned the ice. Little blue veins appeared in the ice in the container. They were weak points. She took the knife and jabbed the narrowest one. Suddenly, numerous small cracks erupted and all the ice crumbled into pieces.

As she scooped the ice in the cup, memories of her first time using her powers engulfed her mind. Fear and trauma, overwhelmed her. Yet a sense of hope and completion lingered within her.

They still do.

The calling of her name reminded her of where she was.

Kevin

She quickly replaced the container and stepped towards the door. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before turning the knob.
