Kevin's p.o.v.

I waited anxiously to see the door open. I was so occupied with persuading Josh to go get to something warm up that I didn't realise when Elizabeth went into the room without a coat or gloves.

Did she want to freeze?

.....She seem to like the cold though.

I was about to call her name again when the door opened. Her smooth milky face was masked with...comfort?

I watched her as she walked out.

No frost bites,no shivering. It's like her smooth milky white skin had a whiter glow than before.

I glanced at the cup.

Perfectly crushed ice. But she didn't even carry a knife with her? She looked a lot more comfortable, confident and her beautifully soft face got even more beautiful . She's so.....

"Kevin quit staring at your girlfriend and help me out". Josh voice rang harshly in my ears.

" She's not my girlfriend". I quickly remarked.

She has most of the qualities I want in one so far. I just need to know why she loves the cold so much. Not that I mind, but I find it very, very intriguing.

I stepped over to Elizabeth," You go ahead and get Gracey her snow cone. I'll stay back and help Josh."

She looked at me then Josh. She gave me the cup of ice, went over to the igloo and stooped down. Both Josh and I watched her intently. She grazed her hand skillfully around the edge of it.

"You sure you gonna pull that? It's been in that freezer quite a while now". Josh said unbelievingly.

I frowned at Josh's words.

Didn't he see the girl walk into a freezer without anything warm and come out frostbite free? She wasn't even shivering.

I wasn't going to stand here and let him talk her down, especially when she kindly suggested he should get something to warm up which he turned down completely. I don't know what his deal was today. Maybe the cold is getting to him.

" Hey dude, have some faith. You want this thing to open don't you?"

He looked at me for a second then turned his attention to Elizabeth.

"Yea".

Elizabeth took up the knife from the floor. After sliding it under the lid of the igloo she lifted it open with ease.

That was quick. She sure know a thing or two with knives.

Obviously, she lived with ice carvers.

"There's a big chunk of ice in this thing. No wonder it couldn't open. Now how we going to get this out?" Josh rubbed his hands together. We looked at Elizabeth expectantly.

She took up the knife again and stared at the chunk of ice in the igloo. Her eyes turned gray blue for a second then she jabbed the left corner of the ice quickly. To my surprise, the ice crumbled mercilessly in the igloo in mere seconds. Both Josh and I jerked back at the sound.

I don't know about Josh or what he saw, but that was the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

I wonder if I could learn that?

"That was incredible!" I nearly shouted.

"Oh. Um.... Thanks",she said standing up.

She handed Josh the knife, which he took shakily.
" And your welcome". She gave him a small smile and turned to me.

For some reason my heart picked up pace. I looked away from her gaze.

Damn it! Why does this keep happening?!

She giggled.

" Maybe everyone can have snow cones today", she joked. " C'mon Kevin ".

I glanced her slim frame heading towards the corridor. I quickly hung my coat and take off my gloves to catch up to her. My interest in her having tripled.
