I awoke under the crisp cold morning air.

After an equally cold shower and being dressed in another of my new dresses, I made my way to the kitchen. Kevin was moving around the kitchen in blue PJ's, bobbing his head along to music I'm guessing since he had a pair of earphones on.

He looked so sweet and innocent and happy. Could he be happy that I'll be telling him more about me? I felt a bit contented and decided stay quiet and watch him.

He stopped abruptly as when he saw me. " Oh hey Elizabeth.  I- I didn't see you ". He said while trying to hide his blushing face. For a second he seemed to be scolding himself then turned to face me. Adorable.

"It's okay".

"Mom is checking up some stuff for you and will probably visit the orphanage and dad is making some deliveries so we're alone... For now"

"Oh" was all I said, staring at my feet as a slightly weird quietness came between us. I hope everything goes well for them.

"I was thinking of making something sweet like pancakes with chocolate syrup and tea or maybe just eggs and toast with hot chocolate." Kevin said waving the spoon in his hand. "I can't decide. What would you like?"

I met his chocolate eyes which seemed to brighten,"M-me?" I squeaked.

" Yes you. I don't recall anyone else being here"

My stomach made an embarrassing growl. I didn't even realise I was so hungry."Um, the pancakes sounds nice" I mumbled as heat flooded my cheeks.

He chuckled. "Okay. Pancakes it is. And since you're so hungry why don't you help? It'll finish a lot quicker."

I remembered seeing a cook making them in Danville at an inn called 'The Cozy Inn' when I was offered a job there. I guess my experiences are paying off. Kevin and I made breakfast. Sort of. He watched me most of the time, like a student paying eager attention to their teacher.

"These- taste great!" Kevin said between mouthfuls," I don't think mine would've been this good".

" Thanks" I said feeling gratitude.

The sun gently shone on the soft white snow as I walked further and further away from the house. I left soon after Kevin and I had breakfast. I really missed the snow.

After a while I stumbled upon a frozen pond. It was a little above medium in size. I suddenly remembered my first pair of ice skates that I made. A smile crept on my face. I love ice skating. Using my powers, I scanned the ice to check the weak points. I gasped as I felt the rush through my body and relished it. I stretched out my hand ready to reinforce them when-

"What are you doing?"

I screamed in shock. I was about to hurl a fistful at snow in the voice's direction when I saw Kevin's shocked-concerned face.

"I'm sorry I startled you." He was wrapped up in a dark woolly coat that reached his knees, along with a tam that covered his ears and similar snow boots. I looked at myself in just a dress with small flat shoes.

He must think I'm an alien or something.

I stood up not bothering to brush off the snow that clinged to me. We stared at each other for a while before Kevin spoke," So your not cold at all?"

"No". I turned away not wanting to see if he thought I was a freak or not.

" It must be a paradise for you then. Hey, let's have a snow ball fight".

Before I could turn around I felt a lump of snow crash in my head. Suddenly I found myself smiling, adrenaline pumping and my power buzzed at my fingertips.

"C'mon you afraid of a little snow ball fight?" Kevin asked teasingly. I quickly scooped up a fistful of snow and threw it, landing smack in Kevin's face. He grimaced as he wiped his face like a little child who got hit too hard, which surprisingly made me laugh.

"I'm glad you enjoyed that" he chuckled," Nice aim. So how about who gets the most hit wins?" He asked slowly stooping getting another fistful of snow.

I mimicked his movements as excitement flooded me, " You're on".
