Chapter one
My whole life flashed before my eyes,never in a million years did I think that I would be sold. I was such a loyal,trustwothy servant to my vampire master. The whole family served him.My thoughts instently went my sisters and brothers I could no longer look out for them. Tears welled up in my eyes but I wouldn't let myself cry I was going to leave with all the pride I had. The seat all the sudden grew cold and hard,I realized that i was next to be sold.
"Last but not least the lovely Hayden jonsie come on out here honey"
I stood up tring not to trip over the lovely dress that replaced my usual rags. Thie lights on the stage were far to bright and blurd my vison all I could see was the king and his seven childern upon his throne.
"This young lady is sixteen with a A- blood type. Her old master reportes her as a great worker and a great doner" The old vampire was eyeing me licking his lips. I kept my mind blank because some vampires can read minds and I might get punished for thinking foul things.
"lets start the bidding at lets say 250 doners"
Right I know what your thinking doners what? Doners are the type of money the vampires started to use after they took over earth and all the humans. Basicly doners are cups of blood 250 doners is 250 cups of human blood that is there money. Gross huh?
"270 doners" a man with grey hair shouted
"345 doners" another voice said
"600 doners" one of the kings sons shouted. Wait one of the kings sons! They never bet on selling days,and why was it for me???
"789 doners" this mans voice was huskie but I couldn't see him because of the light.
"1,000 doners" the kings son shouted again.
"1,000 doners going once, going twice, sold to prince alistar!!"
A gasp of air sound came from the audience I was famished and full of questions. Why did the prince pick me? I wasn't even that cute. For 1,000 doners I was sold to prince, no one has ever been sold to anyone at that price he must have wanted me bad. Why did he want me though? I was shaking all over when someone pushed me off the stage to the servants room where I would be kept untill my "new master" came to pick me up. Other girls and two boys were in the room. Boys were only used for the hard jobs so it was very rare to see boy in the slave room behind the stage. I sat down on the floor watching all the other slaves cry or freak out about being sold to a total stranger. A blond girl with light blue eyes came and sat next to me she had a tear streaked face but was no longer crying.
"Have you been sold more than once your so calm?" her voice was sweet and innocent
"Nope this is my first time being sold ever" her eyes grew wide and a grinn popped on her face
"Your cool my names amy" she put her hand out. I was shocked and happy at the same time it's not always that you get to make friends with other humans and say what you want
"Your sup'osed to shake it" I grinned and shook her hand
"I'm hayden jonsie" We talked about where we came from and our family
"So haydan did you see who you were sold to?" My smile turned into a frown I put my head down. All the questions I had about the prince came up again I wanted to cry.
"I.....uh......well.....gotsoldtothatoneprinceboyalistar" My words were so quick that I don't think that amy even heard me.
"Wait say it again this time but slower kay" I nodded and she motined for me to go on
"You know, that one prince boy alistar" amy gasped
"Thats so cool!! Guess who I got sold to?" I gave her a smile and she went on
"Prince malachie!! that means we'll be in the same place i'm so happy I need a friend". My jaw dropped amy and I were in the same house I would finally have a friend that cared for me working with me on the sidelines.
