I yawn as I wake up from my...vision? Sleep? Projection? I have no idea what to call it...

"Morning Carmen." Zander's sweet voice rings through the room.

"Morning." I say groggily.

"Are you ready to start your new school." He asks and my eyes jolt open, wide.

Fuck! I totally and completely forgot about school. I don't even know why I forgot because I was just at school on Friday which was the day before yesterday.

Wait a minute...

"Asshole! It's Sunday." I scream and throw my pillow at his face

He chuckles at my aggressiveness and dodges the pillow as it flies through the air and then hits the floor.

"Yeah I know. But you still love me." He smirks.

"Forever and always." I reply back with a smile.

"Promise?"

"Huh?" I'm confused...

"Promise me your forever and always." He smiles at me and I can see the love and hope and care in his eyes.

"I promise you Zander. Forever and always."

He lays on the bed with me and kisses me lightly on my lips. I wish this boy could be my first everything.

"I'll be your first everything?" He says, reading only half my thoughts.

"Everything." I lie.

I feel bad about lying but I don't want him to know what happened until I absolutely need to tell him. It's not something I'm ready to put yet.

He gets off the bed and I get up. I need to get up out of bed or I'll be there all day long. As I do my things in the bathroom Zander explains to me that he has to go out with his father, and my father and Donovan. They have some business to attend to in a close by pack.

I wished him luck and told him to be very careful. I can't loose him. I think, that maybe I love him.

"Car!" Sophia's voice says knocking on the bedroom door frame.

"Yeah?"

"Wanna come for a walk with me and Aunt Casey?" She asks.

I smile at her and nod my head.

I quickly get dressed and we leave the house and walk towards the park. As we walk and talk I feel a tap on my shoulder and momentarily panic. I grab the hand and flip the body over my shoulder.

"You are definitely your mothers daughter." Aunt Casey laughs.

I give her a questioning look but then turn my attention back to the body laying on the sidewalk.

"God, I'm really sorry about that." I say to the girl as she gets up and brushes herself off.

"It's okay, I understand." She says.

"Did you need something?" I ask her.

"Your name is Carmen Trudel yes?" She asks and I shake my head.

"I'm no longer a Trudel. I'm Carmen Blake." I tell her.

"Oh, I recognized you by your scent." She smiles.

"Scent?"

Something about this girl seems a little weird... I study her for a quick moment and see something poking through her lip.

Fangs...

She's a vampire!

"Your blood." She says smelling the air.

I feel my heart rate start to pick up and Aunt Casey pushes Sophia and I behind her.

"What do you want?" She snarls.

I focus on the young girl in front of me as she cowers in Casey's present.

"Stop." I mutter as I notice the aura that surrounds that young girl.

Pink and white. Sweet and innocent. This girl doesn't want to hurt anyone.

"What do you want little one?" I ask.

She's probably twelve years old which is like five years younger than me. I'm not going to let anyone hurt her, regardless of what she is.

"You're too nice sometimes. She's a vampire!" Forrest growls in my mind.

"Oh get the fuck over it." I scuff.

She sinks back into mind and my attention returns to the small vampire in front of me.

"I was hoping you could help me. You are the prophecy witch that I've heard much about. Your projection power could possibly help me find my family." She says to me with a sad look in her eyes.

"What's your name little one?" Sophia asks, stepping around Casey.

"Raven." She smiles.

"That's a very nice name. Now, what happened to your family?" I ask.

"I don't know..." She says with a sniffle. "I woke up a week ago and they weren't home. I waited two days and they didn't come home. My mom, dad, brother and baby sister. I don't understand why they would have left me..." She says looking down at the ground and I can sense that she's avoiding the truth.

I look at her with stern eyes and she sighs looking back down to the ground.

"Okay, okay. It's because I refuse to drink human blood. I will only drink animal blood. I can't stand the thought of taking a human life or any life but I have to feed and an animals life is smaller compared to a humans."

So she won't kill so her family disowns her? That is so sad! I would be in her shoes if I were a vampire. I can't stand the thought of harming a life form. It's just who I am. I don't think her soul was meant to become a vicious, killing vampire.

"Well, Raven, you're coming home with us and we'll figure something out even if you have to stay with us." Sophia says and I smile at her.

I smile as I look around. This day just got a little more interesting.

I wonder how Zander's day has been.
