Everyone in class was uneasy- Chloe had gone almost the entire day without snapping at someone. So when the teacher left the room a few minutes before the school day was over, the class tentatively came to life, everyone terrified that they might be the target of the blonde's rage that was most likely going to explode at any moment.

Quietly, they chatted away with each other, casting glances at the clock and keeping an eye on Chloe, who was happily chattering Sabrina's ear off about something. That was until Marinette's voice increased in volume.

"Come on, Alya, give it back!" The bluenette complained as the other girl joked around with her, keeping her sketchbook out of reach.

"Nu-uh, girl, not until you do the thing," Alya teased while being vaguely ominous, easily catching everyone's interest. Marinette's face turned a slight red, and the rest of the class was too busy enjoying the spectacle to notice the blonde they had been so wary of had spurred into motion.

"What's this?" Chloe asked, snatching the book away from the tan girl and started leafing through it. Marinette's face fell, along with the mood in the room. She had been the primary target of the blonde's torment all week, it getting worse each day. But now the blonde could do more damage, a fact everyone seemed to understand. Adrien, Nino, and Alya all shared glances with each other, worried for their friend about the storm that was about to rain down on the aspiring fashion designer.

"Not only are all these design worthless trash, but it seems you've been stalking Chat Noir," the blonde mused, looking at the most recent drawing Marinette had been working on. She showed it to the class, as if showing them a picture in a picture book.

"Chloe, give it back," the pig-tailed girl said, reaching for her book.

"Why? So you can continue with your fascination?" The instigator held the book away from the other girl, popping her hip out and resting her free hand on it.

"It's not-"

"Oh come ON," Chloe exclaimed, exasperated. "It's obvious from how badly you tried to make this look like him that you stare at him a lot." Adrien was looking at Marinette now while everyone else looked at the heavily detailed picture she had drawn.

She likes Chat, huh? Adrien smiled inwardly at that thought. The kind, sweet Marinette thought that Chat Noir was good, and that made him think that maybe he was doing something right. But he was torn from his quick thoughts by Alya.

"Just give it back to her, you have no right-"

"She has no right to be crushing on anyone! She's so useless, just sitting around in class and doodling, unable to form a sentence when she talks to Adrikins, and now all of the sudden she's decided it'd be okay for her to crush on a superhero? Nu-uh, someone's got to shut her down!"

"You don't really even care for Chat Noir," Nino muttered. Chloe glared at him before continuing.

"It doesn't matter anyway," she said, opening the book again, tearing out the page of Chat Noir and ripping it up. "She'll never get anywhere with him. No one would want someone like her."

With that, Marinette left all of her things in the room, running out a few seconds before the bell rang. The classroom blew up around Chloe, while Adrien grabbed Marinette's belongings and went after her. But when he went outside, Nathalie was  waiting for him. He needed to see Marinette and make sure she was okay, but as usual , his father's request took precedence. Sighing, he got into the limo. Adrien learned a long time ago that complaining had a low rate of getting him anywhere. He'd check up on her as Chat Noir after whatever his father had planned from him.

*A/N: Sorry if I took too long to get to the MariChat part "^_^*

It was night by the time Adrien finished his schedule, and despite his exhaustion, managed to make a deal with Plagg to transform him. Grabbing Marinette's stuff, he leapt from his window with practised ease.

It didn't take him long to get to her house, and since he had been visiting her for a while, he dropped down into her room from the trap door she left unlocked for him.

"Hey Purrincess, I-" Chat stopped in his tracks when he saw her kneeling on the floor with a deer in the headlights look.

"Chat...? Why...?" Marinette asked, moving her arms in a way to attempt to hide them.

"Princess?" He placed her stuff on her desk before moving to her, taking in the scene before him. The girl was cradling a blade, similar to the ones used to cut cardboard. But that wasn't what caused the worry he already held to magnify- no, it was the blood on her arms that threatened to drip to the floor that made him panic. Carefully, he took the blade from the shell shocked Marinette and helped her up by the upper arm.

"W-what-"

"Hush. I need to get you to the bathroom to clean you up," he cut her off gently, focusing just on making sure she'd stop bleeding before anything else. Directing her to sit down, he grabbed the first aid kit from under the sink, where he'd know it be from previous times of her tending to his minor scrapes. Taking her one of her towels, he wet it and cleaned the blood off her arms before bandaging them.

"Chat..." Marinette started weakly.

"Let's go talk in your room," he offered, along with his arm. She took it, shyly following him back to her room. He lead her up the ladder and sat down on her bed, but she just stood there, holding her arms to her chest.

"Princess, come here," he urged softly.

"Why did you come?" the bluenette asked in a quiet voice.

"I was worried about you after what I heard happened to you at school."

"...why?" Chat blinked at her question.

"What do you mean why?"

"Why are you here?" she asked, obviously close to tears.

"Why wouldn't I be?" The feline hero asked, standing up with concern etched on his face.

"B-Because I'm not worth it." Marinette burst into tears, spurring the blond to pick her up and sit back down with her in his lap. His arms were now wrapped around her, and he sat there, rocking back and forth. She was crying into his chest, he fingers gripping at his back.

"You are-"

"No! I'm not worth it! I can't say what I need to say to people, I can't stand up for myself, I'm not good at anything I do, I'm useless and worthless and just all around stupid!" The bluenette sobbed.

"That's not you talking, Princess. Those are the words of others. They're not true."

"Yes, yes they are all of them! I'm-"Chat silenced her with a kiss.

"I love you, Mari," he breathed when he broke away. "You're beautiful, strong, smart, and determined. And I hate seeing you this way."

"Y-you aren't disappointed in me?" Marinette asked after staring into his eyes.

"I'm disappointed in the people that got you to this point. I'm disappointed in myself for not being here for you to stop you from hurting yourself. I am so sorry you were driven to hurt yourself, but I will never be disappointed in you," the green eyed boy murmured, placing a hand on her cheek and rubbing his thumb in circles. "In fact, I'm so proud of you, because I'm willing to bet you fought off an akuma all by yourself." She leaned into his hand, obviously deep in thought.

"Penny for your thoughts, Princess?" He asked, thankful that she seemed to believe in him enough to ignore the hurtful words she dealt with.

"I...I have something to tell you," Marinette said slowly.
