Audri's POV

January 26, 2017
10:49 AM

"So how have you two been since our last session. Have you been communicating?" Dr. Paige sat across from us looking over the rim of her glasses.

"Funny story about that," I eyed Justin.

"Audri, you know that effective communication in a relationship involves words," she reminded me. "So, is there something you need to share?"

"Justin and I had a minor disagreement when we were leaving our session last week," I glanced over at him and he just sat there with his arms crossed looking straight ahead.

"I need some more information. Justin, please feel free to join in."

"This is partly the problem," I added. He was acting like a spoiled little boy, not the 22 year old father.

"Great! More problems," Justin sighed as his hands went up in the air.

"I need you two to calm down and stop talking at each other," Dr. Paige scolded, but her tone was calm. It was actually a little weird that she could do that and still look so unbothered.

I let out a huff. I wasn't even mad, I was honestly so confused. "I get overwhelmed with all the drivers and bodyguards and the other crazy stuff that comes with fame," I spoke. "I admit it isn't really Justin's fault. I did know that he was famous when we first met, but things are totally different now," I looked at Justin once again and his facial expression had softened. "I apologize for getting upset with you about something out of your control, but I just really hope you understand where I'm coming from," I added.

"Justin," Dr.Paige prompted him to reply.

"Uh- I understand why you feel the way you do. We have Levi and my life can get crazy, but you have to know that it's necessary for us to have people there to protect us. You two are important to me, I don't want anything to happen to you. I honestly don't know what you want me to do," he finally locked eyes with me.

"I know," I sighed. "There's really no solution. I'm just going to have to get used to it."

"Okay, now on to my favorite part," Dr. Paige grinned at the two of us. "Justin, you're up first this time. Tell me one thing you liked that Audri did this week."

"I like how she takes care of the house," he leaned forward with his elbows on his knees and rubbed his hands together.

"I liked how he took care of Levi. He's a great dad," I traced my fingers down his back.

Dr. Paige scribbled something down in her notebook and looked up at us with a grin. "That's great you two. Remember to talk to one another not at one another. Also, when you're not the one talking, you should be listening to your partner," she closed her notebook before continuing. "One problem that I notice with you two is that there is a lot of finger pointing. In the long haul, it doesn't matter who caused something or started an argument, each of you have to take responsibility for how things turn out. Remember as I said before, acknowledge the problem and figure out how to fix it. The rest is irrelevant in the end, especially to Levi. I'll be seeing you both next week," she stood up.

Justin and I both nodded before standing as well. He didn't seem any more comfortable than he did the first time we went. Actually, he was being flat out weird. He didn't even talk for the first ten minutes.

The whole car ride back home was silent. This time we were accompanied by Mikey and Evert, which made things that more awkward. Justin was alternating between staring out of the window, and feverishly texting.
