She couldn't believe what she was seeing. An entire city reduced to ashes. All because of a robot. So many movies have depicted how artificial intelligence would be the end of us. How robots would take over the world and kill mankind. Though they were never taken seriously.
"Where's Will Smith when you need him?" Malia thought. She pushed her light brown hair off of her face as she helped a little girl named Alexandria search for her father.
Malia felt the little girl's grip on her hand tighten. She looked down to ask what was wrong, when she saw it.
Captain America was fighting over seven robots, his shield on the ground about a dozen feet away from him.
"Oh I am so going to regret this" Malia thought with a sigh. She looked down at the eight year old who had a frightened expression on her face.
"I'll be right back I promise." Malia said to the little girl. Alexandria's eyes widened and before she could protest, Malia bolted.
She picked up the strewn shield and attacked the robots ambushing the Captain.
Malia threw the sheild towards a robot effectively decapitating it before punching another robot and delivering a roundhouse kick to its head that was powerful enough to knock its head off, killing it instantly.
Everything she ever learned during the martial arts classes she took as a child surfaced to her head as she desperately fought off using every bit of strength she had left.
By then the Captain had retrieved his sheild and finished off the other robots.
He turned to look at Malia and stared.
"Well?" She arched her eyebrow "Aren't you going to say thank you?"
The captain snapped out it and grabbed her arm.
"You need to get to safety. Find cover and stay there"
Malia rolled her eyes. "I would but I need to help a little girl find her father."
She turned to look at Alexandria only to find her embracing a middle-aged man who looked a lot like her.
Captain America quirked an eyebrow at the green-eyed girl, a hint of a smile dancing on his lips "That little girl?"
"Are you being sarcastic? And here I thought the only thing you were capable of was fighting and talking about patriotism." Malia smirked, her inner fangirl dancing at the fact she was talking with the Captain America, her childhood hero; though she had to admit, she thought he'd be taller.
The captain rolled his eyes at her though the smile remained one his face.
"Get to safety" he ordered
Malia smirked and saluted him. "Ay ay captain"
She ran towards the recently reunited father-daughter duo and started leading them towards the one of the abandoned buildings, hoping it would protect them from the chaos outside.
