After comiing to my realization I had collapsed as if reinforcing that I was dying. Nathan had to carry me up to my room, calling the doctor. I was again, stuffed into bed with poeple crowding around me. The doctor had been very concerned that I had fainted three times in one week(Howard tattled about me fainting in his office) and so conducted a full physical. Good news was everyone had to leave, Bad side was the doctor made me do lots of embarrassing things. And then he pulled everyone back into the room to announce I had a fever and was having trouble balancing. This time I would have loved if Caleb had thought I was fine, just wimpy but even he had been serious and concerned about me. It was very annoying.
They'd then held a mini council with the king and queen, without me I might add, and decided it was be best if I was confinded to bed for a week so that I would be fully recovered in time for the the Day of Choosing. Which was in nine days, leaving me one day to learn proper etiquette and be outfitted in a new gown. Nine days until I had to choose would be my companion for the rest of my life. Which could be very short if we didn't find the snake. There had been a possible sighting of it in the west forest. Howard assured me that it wouldn't be able to get past the magical boundaries that encircled the royal property.
I was still on a schedule, though different than my original one. I now spent all morning eating breakfast and talking to Ethan. My lunches and afternoons were spent watching movies with Nathan who was a lot more pleasant now that he decided I wasn't evil. And then my evenings and dinners were spent playing chess with Caleb. We were pretty evenly matched.
All four of us could feel the pressure that the kingdom was putting on us. I knew from Nancy and my teachers that an underground betting went on whenever the new Queen had to pick. I wondered who people were betting on. I had been visited by the King even who encouraged me put all my effort into falling in love. He had said this with tears in his eyes and I realized he knew his wife didn't love him. Even Howard had come in and told me that I had to forget Walker and pick someone else.
And so each morning I promised myself to put all my effort into falling in love with them and putting everything to the side. And every night I broke that promise and spent hours staring at the images in Walker's lcoket, crying myself to sleep. Would it be so bad to let go of this pain?

Ethan and I lay on our stomachs on my bed, staring at the t.v. as we both tryed to kill eachothers character. Yes, we were playing video games. Ethan had snuck them in at breakfast and we'd been playing for three hours. We had only a half hour left before Ethan would get kicked out and I was determined to beat him.
"Come on, kill him!" I encouraged my avatar, a cross between a lizard and bear. Ethan was ironically enough a wizard.
I cursed as Ethan hit me with a blue blast from his staff, taking half my health points.
"Oh yes, be scared Cammie. You will be disnintegrated!" He declared, laughing. I got a couple good blows in but he restored his health with a potion. And then Ethan's wizard lined up to give the kill blow. In a moment of desperation, I shoved Ethan off the bed where he landed with an oomph. I had just enough time to run forward with my hybrid and bludgen the wizard too death.
"Victory!" I shouted, pumping my fists in the air. "Hey loser I just killed you!" I called down to Ethan.
"Cheater!" He said, grinning in bewilderment as he climbed back up onto the bed, his hair in dissarry.
"Oh I barely nudged you, you were just leaning to the left." I teased, laying back wiht my hands behind my head, the perfect picture of sumgness. Ethan picked up a pillow.
