Nearly everyone is psyched about the ending when all of the characters are their favorite color, myself included. I think this represents society approving of LGBT and gender equality.
In DHMIS 1, the notebook said, "Green is not a creative color." And I think this is the teacher teaching the children at a young age that homosexuality is not okay. Saying, "Green is not a creative color" is the equivalent to saying, "Being gay is not okay."
And in DHMIS 6, when Roy lets Red Guy unplug the machine, Roy (society) is allowing homosexuality to be okay, and allowing the characters to be their favorite colors. Now it's okay to be "green" and it's almost as though the characters were revolting against the idea that it's not okay to have green be your favorite color. (As noticed my one of my friends on twitter, the door and other objects in the room are now green, strengthening my idea that the characters are revolting.)
Anyways, that was a theory I've been thinking about and I hope you guys like it, comment if you have any input or arguments about this theory and I may put a chapter including your comments.
