Once Sakura reached the orphanage, she couldn't help the feeling of dread that slowly slithered into the pit of her stomach.
Marianne the person in charge of the orphans was a cruel woman.
She would send orphans to the room of punishment if they even tried to talk to each other or if they tried to go outside.
It was actually forbidden to leave and could actually lead to a slow and painful death.
Sakura P.O.V
I'm usually very careful when I sneak out, I always make sure to get home before anyone would notice.
This time though I stayed later than I anticipated, since it was now night time.
I knew the punishment would be greater than usual, and I already received many horrible punishments since Madame Marianne didnt like me at all.
This time she was going to probably take me to the owner of the orphanage, he was really creepy and even more evil than her.
When I finally reached the big broken building I took in a deep breath and opened the large chained doors.
It was even more eerie than usual, since everyone was sleeping in their rooms.
I walked further into the house while my footsteps echoed through the halls.
I decided that since I'm most like going to be dead after this punishment I might as well go down with a fight. So with that reassuring thought in mind I carefully climbed up the stairwell that led to Madame Marianne's room.
As I walked towards her room I could hear whispers and see two shadows through the small crack on the bottom of the door.
I lifted my shaking hand and hesitantly knocked on the door.
I could barely hear it over the sound of my heart pounding in my ears.
I heard footsteps, and the door open.
I looked up and saw Madame Marianne I gulped but otherwise said nothing and kept my face blank as she stared down at me with cold eyes filled with hatred something that I was already used to.
She smiled sinisterly sweet and opened the door wider revealing a shadowed figure in the corner of the room.
"There you are, you little brat! How dare you disobey us, and most importantly Kotu-Sama." She snarled.
I just looked at her blankly not giving her the satisfaction of seeing my fear.
As she opened her mouth to say something else a gruff scratchy voice interrupted her. "Enough Marianne! Sorry little flower, but it seems like we'll have to execute punishment 78EE maybe if you survive this you'll hopefully learn your lesson!" He spat coldly while looking at me with disgust.
