Yuuyoi Oneshots

World So Cold

Request: Yoichi dies in battle and Yuu takes it hard, unable to really accept it. He goes out to avenge Yoichi to kill the vampires responsible for Yoichi's death with the help of Mikaela.

The clanging of blades meeting  and battle cries echoed throughout the air. A male who goes by Yuichiro Hyakuya panted, emerald green eyes narrowed into a glare as he swung his cursed gear at the bloodsucker in front of him. Purple marks slowly developed and made its way up the side of face as he borrowed power from Asuramaru. 

Countering the attack made by the vampire in front of him, his sword thrusted forward and successfully stabbing the fanged creature in front of him. Yuu smirked, activating the curse before pulling his sword out and the vampire turning into dust. "One bloodsucker gone.." He mumbled, triumphantly. He let himself relax for a moment before the sound of a building crumbling. He whirled around and saw a Horsemen of John being the cause of it. He didn't have much concern about the sudden appearance of the creature but he was more concerned about the safety of one sniper, a dear friend of his. 

"Yoichi!!" He yelled, catching the sight of the mentioned male hanging onto the edge of a soon collapsing building. One hand held on while the other held onto his cursed gear. He saw Yoichi soon let go and fell. Thankfully the drop wasn't too high since he managed to land and get out of the way of the rubble falling to the ground. 

Yuu let out a sigh of relief from seeing that the brunet was alright along with Kimizuki, another friend of his, managing to take down the Horsemen. A vampire soon managed to get in way when he was going to try going to Yoichi's side. He adjusted the hold on his cursed gear and the bloodsucker lunged at him with sword in hand. He blocked the attempt of an attack, his blade against the other before managing to push it to the side. Taking the vampire by surprise, he made a swift swing at them and brought them down. 

He looked around his surroundings, seeing that the Shinoa Squad, including a Mikaela and Narumi, were managing to take down the vampires they had encountered without an issue until hearing a cry of pain. He whirled around and his emerald green eyes widened at the sight of the brunet having one hand holding onto his shoulder, the white glove soon growing a red color with the blood that was staining it. The part that got him insanely worried was the fact Yoichi was surrounded by two vampires that both held swords. The raven haired male had at least the knowledge that someone that dealt with long range was no match against someone that dealt with close range attacks, especially if the sniper was not on higher ground. 

Yuu growled under his breath, his grip on the sword tightening before rushing to the vampires. "Get away from him!!" He yelled, rage evident in those emerald green eyes. However, he couldn't get to Yoichi's side fast enough no matter how fast he ran towards them. He felt like the world suddenly went in slow motion, the sight of one of a purple-haired vampire appear behind the brunet and with a smirk, stabbed the latter with his sword. Blood spurted out of the wound, the tip of a blade peeking out and the hazel eyes belonging to the sniper widening before their gaze moved down to the blade. He soon fell to the ground when Lacus pulled the sword out of him and shoved the boy to the ground.

"You damn bloodsucker!" Yuu yelled now being full of rage, his cursed gear now being held with two hands as he swung recklessly at the vampire that caused Yoichi's fatal injury. Lacus just seemed to be amused by the grin on their face, dodging each swing and not even bothering to attack. The vampire soon jumped onto the blade of the sword, looking down at Yuu before raising his foot and kicking him square in the jaw before jumping off. 

"C'mon René~." The purple-haired vampire sang out, now growing bored of the human's antics and gestured for his silent partner to follow as the two managed to escape from the battlefield. 

The raven-haired boy fell to the ground from the strength of the kick but quickly recovered when hearing a weak voice say his name. "Y.. Yuu..?"

Said male quickly scrambled to his brunet's side, and grabbing a hold of his hand. "I-I'm here Yoichi..! We're going to get you out of here and you'll be okay. You'll be okay, y-you just to hang on." Yuu told the other, trying to hold onto the hope that he would be alright. Yoichi just shook his head and simply smiled. 

"I-I'm sorry.. Yuu." He mumbled and forced himself to raise a hand, gently cupping the raven-haired boy's cheek with a smile. 

Yuu stared down at Yoichi, tears forming in his emerald green eyes. "W-What do you mean-? You're not going anywhere, Yoichi! W-We're going to get you out of here!"

It became harder for the brunet to breathe, his chest moving up slowly and the breaths hitched. "I.. I lo.. ve you, Y-Yuu.." Those were Yoichi's last words and his hazel eyes came to a close. The hand cupping Yuu's cheek limply fell to the ground and he had stopped breathing. Tears spilled from the teen's eyes and he took a hold of Yoichi's body, shaking it a bit.

"T-This isn't funny Yoichi! Quit it, you idiot!" He cried out, waiting for some sort of response from the brunet but received nothing but silence. He held the other's body close to his chest, cradling him and soon began to sob. The smaller boy's words echoed in his mind, those meaningful three words he didn't get to return until it was too late. 

Yuu didn't even hear the others approach him, he was too overwhelmed with his own grief to pay attention to Shinoa and the others. Mika tried getting the raven-haired to leave, even if this was painful but the latter was too stubborn and didn't want to leave without Yoichi. Mitsuba, Kimizuki and Narumi watched with pity as Mika and Shinoa tried convincing sense into Yuu and that Yoichi was gone no matter how painful and hard it was to bring themselves to those terms. But he wasn't having any of it. It got to the point where Kimizuki had to knock him out by using Kiseki-o's Box to drag Yuu away from Yoichi's corpse and to leave the battlefield, to a place where it was safe.

The boy known as Yoichi Saotome, the kind and meek brunet of the Shinoa Squad was gone. Dead. The world truly was cold and showed no remorse on taking away the ones you loved.

A/N: Hey! I'm not dead and finally managed to update this!! I'm finally doing the requests, sorry for the long wait! I'm starting with an angsty request, and I'm making this request two parts. The second part will have Yuu and Mika fighting so don't worry! I'll probably work and publish the second part after doing another oneshot which will be fluffy, I swear!
