Lapis Lazuli didn't even say anything before she left. She just took her things, and walked out the door.

Peridot was absolutely stunned. Her eyes stared blankly at the spot where lapis laid. Then when she heard the door slam shut, she threw the syringe at the wall.
Three minutes later, she started hearing the voices. First it was her sister Amethyst's. Then it was her mother's. And so on.
She wanted to see how Lapis felt. So she concentrated and tried to find Lapis' mind.

Lapis was walking to her house, which was a long way away. She really didn't care how far her house was. She was just upset that Peridot couldn't trust her or tell the truth.

They went a whole month without talking to each other. Or looking at each other. Peridot got a new syringe.

Jasper was part of a gang of "cool kids" called the Homeworld gems. She didn't actually choose to be in that group, but she and Peridot were forced into it by the other members.

Jasper was actually in a relationship with Lapis. It was a calm, chill relationship. Of course, the Homeworld Gems were looking for a bit of trouble, so they asked Jasper to take Lapis' ex and pull a prank on her. If Jasper didn't do it, they'd beat up Lapis.

So they told her Jasper'd meet her after school at the indoor pool. Lapis caught a glimpse of Peridot behind Jasper in the doorway. Then Jasper pushed Lapis into the pool and ran out. Peridot locked Lapis inside.

Lapis stayed there, alone, until the next day when the pool was unlocked and swim practice began. She skipped school, and spent the day in front of a space heater with five blankets wrapped around her.

As soon as she warmed up, she went straight to Steven's house. Steven was the fourteen year old Lapis babysat after school. They both agreed that she wasn't really his babysitter, they were best buds.

Steven always knew how to make Lapis happy. He also knew how to get her to talk about her feelings. So Lapis told him about what'd happened yesterday night and apologized that she couldn't come over. Steven accepted her apology, and they curled up together on the couch watching their favorite show, Crying Breakfast Friends.
