Steven knew Lapis would want to skip school again. He convinced her to go.

School was uneventful. Nobody talked to her.

Peridot's school day was actually very eventful. She decided to ditch the Homeworld gems at lunch and sat at a table alone. Two chatty girls sat next to her.

"Amethyst, it's against the dress code to wear spaghetti straps!" Oh, right. It was Amethyst and her crush, Pearl.
Pearl was a tall girl who looked very skinny and weak, but was actually very muscular and talented. She liked to sing and dance, sometimes Amethyst would pick her up from dance practice.

"I just forgot again." Amethyst stuffed a few french fries in her mouth and turned her attention to peridot. "Oh, hey 'Dot!"

"Hi," She grumbled. Peridot actually hadn't talked to Amethyst in a while, which was surprising because they did live together.

Two girls sat down on the other side of the table. One of them was giggling softly, and the other seemed to be flirting with her. Pearl and Amethyst didn't seem to notice it, but Peridot actually didn't understand it.

"P-dot, you've met Steven yet right?" Amethyst nudged her.

"Huh? Who's that?"

Amethyst chuckled,"We're gunna go hang out at the roller rink tonight. Why don't chya join us?"

"Hm... Sure."

That night, she had lots of fun with Steven, Amethyst, Pearl, Ruby and Sapphire. She learned new things from Ruby and Sapphire, like how to keep relationships and what love really was. Steven also talked about this old show he was re-watching called Camp Pining Hearts. Peridot was very interested in watching it with him. The group all together taught her what good friendships are. She decided to ditch the Homeworld Gems for good.

Soon, the group started calling them the Crystal Gems. They stood up to the Homeworld Gem's mischief, and the two groups became big enemies.

One day, they put Amethyst with Jasper for a social studies project, and they both got an F on it, since they refused to work together.

The other day, Pearl almost fell for one of their mischievous pranks.

But today, they had a new member. Lapis Lazuli joined their friend group. She was quiet and reserved. Peridot was afraid she was falling in love again. She started feeling nauseous, and she couldn't keep her eyes open. Peridot was very upset that she was still in love with her, because she knew Lapis wouldn't want to get back together.

And there she was, waiting for her mother again at the front of the school on the bench with her crippled phone—lately she'd been throwing it at the wall—in her hand.
Then Lapis Lazuli walked out of the school, and walked right past Peridot. She didn't even say anything! It made Peridot angry that she ignored her.

Peridot just stared at her, she didn't even notice. God, she's so beautiful.
