Now that your have purchased your bunny(ies) you should know that your bunny should be around you & family members. Place the bunnies cage where family members can pass, but is quiet and away from other pets such as dogs, and cats.
Spend the least amount of time with the bunny for the first three days unless you are cleaning the cage, or feeding & watering the bunny. Do not chase the bunny around the cage.
You may put your hand up to the bunny and let him smell your fingers and hand. Don't feel bad if he runs from you, this is normal. Casjmere ran from me quite a bit in the beginning.
WASH your hands before you attempt to let the bunny smell you, he can smell other animals on you and this will frighten him.
The reason to let him be for 3 days, is so he gets used to his new home and your family members. After the fourth day you can give him a small treat. In the next chapter I will list rabbit safe foods, and treats.
Start off with feeding him a piece of Timothy hay (which is a big part of your bun buns diet) he will take it from you. Then after a couple days with that, you can start with shorter smaller treats until he is taking them from your hand.
It took me about 3 days to get Casjmere to eat from my hand.
Do not be discouraged if your bunny runs from you at first just hold your hand still & allow him to smell, when he takes it, let it go. Do not hold it as he pulls to eat it this will make him anxious.
If you plan on litter training your bunny, I will explain in Chapter 5 how to do so.
