A Ticking Clock:
Chapter 6:
Theodore's POV:
"Alright Felicity, we're finished." Dr. Melissa smiled at my younger sister. El nodded and got up. I helped her put on her pink raincoat and we all got up. "Theodore, can I speak with you?" Dr. Melissa said to me. I nodded slowly and told Rory, Charlie and El to go ahead. They left the room as I sat down in a chair with Melissa. "I think Felicity needs to see a child psychiatrist." She said to me. I bit my lip. "The situation is getting worse; I looked in her notebook and saw her drawing pictures of her killing herself or other people." She looked at me. I nodded slowly. "Will the psychiatrist cost money?" I asked. She shook her head. "It goes with your insurance." She handed me a business card
Dr. Matthew Edwards
4871 Coldbrook Avenue
London, England
I read it over and over. "Dr. Matthew is very excellent in helping children like El. He should be able to give her the medicine she needs to help function in society." She looked at me and I nodded. "Thanks." I smiled and got up. She smiled too and I shook her hand. "I'll see you in a month." She said as I left. I walked outside and into the driver's seat. "What's wrong?" felicity asked me. "You have to go see a psychiatrist." I looked at her. She sighed softly and looked out the window."Thanks Theo." Felicity said to me as I handed her the food she picked. I, well mostly Rory, decided to go to Nandos for lunch. Ellie started eating her chicken strips. I bit into my chicken breast fillet burger and ate a chip. Rory ate from his ¼ chicken breast and Charlie ate some of his chips. "When are we going to this psychiatrist?" Felicity asked me. "Next week." I answered, drinking some water. "Where is it?" she drank some apple juice. "London." A small smile appeared on her face; she's always wanted to go to London. It was her favorite city. I watched her as she continued eating with a huge smile on her face. I couldn't help but smile with her. Even though she has this terrible condition, she's still a child and she has her cute child-like moments and those are the best.
~One Week Later~
"C'mon Teddy, let's go!!" felicity yelled at me as I walked down the stairs. She was wearing an oversized gray sweater, black leggings and gray UGGS. She had a black backpack on and holding her teddy bear. "Ready?" I asked her and she nodded. I held her hand and walked her down the stairs of the complex and into my car. I drove us to the train station and we both got out. "Train!" Felicity smiled, running to the ticket booth.
I chuckled and followed her as we stood in front of an open window. "Hello, where to?" the cashier smiled. "Two for London." I said to her and she nodded. "€4.67." I gave her the money and she handed me the tickets. Felicity sat down in one of the red wicker benches and I sat beside her. She buttoned up her black peacoat as the wind blew over us. I pulled her beanie over her ears and she smiled. I smiled too and looked around.
El got up and walked over to the edge of the dock. She stepped over the yellow and black CAUTION line and stared down the tracks. "Be careful." I said to her as she stared. "Ariel's out there." She said to me and I bit my lip. "What is she saying?" I asked. "She wants me to go out there..." she said softly, taking a step closer to the edge. "El." I got up. Felicity sat on the edge and kicked her legs back and forth. I bit my lip and watched her; I really hope she doesn't jump off.
