My New Home (Jacoby Shaddix)

Chapter 5

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Was the first thing I heard when I woke up.

I looked around.

Dad was passed out on my shoulder holding my hand and there was Jerry playing on his phone.

But Tobin and Tony were not in sight.

I cleared my throat trying to get Jerry's attention.

His head shot up and he frowned when he saw me.

"Hey kiddo. How you feeling?" He asked.

"Like sh!t."

"Your pale." Jerry said studying my face. "but you did loose a lot of blood so it's understandable."

"Blood?" I asked confused.

"Yes, blood. You cut a vein and started bleeding uncontrollably. Your lucky your dad found you when he did."

Just then Tony and Tobin walked in.

"There she is!" Tony yelled.

"Hey squirt." Tobin said.

"Hey guys." I smiled. I liked the band, the were cool guys.

"JACOBY!" Jerry yelled and my dad didn't even flinch.

Jerry sighed.

Jerry up and walked over to my dad.

He went down close to my dads ear and yelled "UNICORNS!!"

My dads head shot up and looked around.

When his eyes met mine and he realized I was awake he whispered "Sam." and hugged me tight.

"Hi Dad." I said hugging back.

"Sam I'm so sorry. If I had known about that news paper, well, I would have understood. I'm so sorry."

"Well dad if you would have let me explain-"

"I know baby girl i know." he hugged me again and started to cry.

"Why are you crying?" I asked.

"Because if I had let you explain then I wouldn't have had to ground you and send you to your room and make you upset and make you cut and then you wouldn't be here right now." He said wipping his tears.

"It's not your fault." I said.

The doctor walked in.

"Oh your awake! Good. Well, miss. Shaddix we took some x-rays of your body to make sure you had a steady blood pace and the x-rays showed you have some fractured ribs on your right side. Just thought I'd let you know."

And then she walked out.

I panicked. Miranda, she kicked my side. I guess she broke some ribs.

"Bruise..." Jacoby mumbled staring into space.

"What?" Tony asked.

"Bruise.." He repeated.

"Broken...Ribs..." He said.

Oh no. He's putting two and two together.

"FIGHT!" He blurted.

"You got into a... Fight?!" He wasn't mad just shocked.

No more hiding the truth, Sam. Just tell him.

I sighed. "No dad, I didn't."

"Then what happened?" Tony asked.

"That girl? Miranda? She bullies me. And beats my up daily." I said and my dads mouth dropped.

"Why didn't you say anything?"

"Because.. She said if I tell someone she said yes she'll get suspended but she said when she comes back she beat me up even harder."

Jacoby cried. "I .. Won't.." he said.

"You won't what?"

"I won't let it. I won't let her do that to you! Not my baby!" He yelled.

"What are you gonna do." I asked waiting for his 'brilliant' plan.

"I'm switching you schools." He said.

I wasn't gonna go all depressed, I could care less if I'm switched. not like I have any friends I need to worry about leaving behind.

"Okay." I said and layed back down.

Jacoby kissed my forehead and said "Get some sleep."

****Blackout*****

"Nice. A smell other than the god awful hospital smell." I said and he laughed.

"Ready? You start your new school today." My dad reminded me. It was only 7 am. I still had time to shower.

"Yeah. But I think I'm gonna have a shower first." I said going up the stairs.

I turned on the water and undressed.

I hoped into the shower and let the hot water melt on my body, anything beats a sponge bath.

I shampooed and conditioned my hair and then climbed out.

I blew dried my hair and then brushed it out and pulled it up into a high pony tail.

I picked my purple skinny jeans with a Seether shirt. (A/N most of her shirts are band shirts.)

I slipped on my purple converses and pulled out my long board, my new school is a bit farther away so I'll just board to school.

I went down stairs an inhaled a bowl

of lucky charms.

"Bye dad love you!" I yelled.

"Bye Sam good luck!"
