Chapter 9: TAKING A STEP

Back at the future timeline, everyone was gathered at the Hokage office. Well... the tension in the room was heavy due to... (you know the reason).

"We already sent every shinobi that can help with the search around the world." Said the Tsuchikage(?) (I forgot who).

"Any luck, Sasuke?" Naruto asked his bestfriend who shaked his head. "I see..."

"We've been searching for two days! Around the world!" Cried Hinata, "Even with the help of all the Hyuuga Clan members!"

"Don't lose hope, Hinata." Naruto comforted his wife. He knew everyone is devastated with the sudden occurence of the kidnapping.

Every single village around the globe helped in their search. Even just a clue. Just a tiny bit is enough. For the most part, Konohagakure has the most searching teams with the help of the Hyuuga Clan lead by Hinata through her younger sister, Hanabi.

"Konohamaru, how is Kurenai?" Kakashi asked

"She's fine now. Though I'm worried for her and Mirai." Konohamaru answered.

Kurenai got sent to the hospital yesterday because she collapsed. It made them panic but they manage to bring her to the hospital with the help of Sakura's first-aid.

"Whoever those scurvy bastards are, Im'ma skin 'em alive!" Kankuro exclaimed, "They better be prepared!"

"Kankuro, stop that language. You're not a pirate!" Temari smacked her younger brother with the fan she'd been gripping on for a while now.

"Ow! I'm sorry! The room's so cold that it will turn into ice any minute!" Kankuro whined as he nurse the bump on his head.

Gaara sighed in disbelief at his elder brother's antics, though he was slightly thankful. The tension broke a little.

"Hokage-sama, a-a-a let-t-tter arrived for you!"

A shinobi scrambled into the room in such a panic, nearly hitting Konohamaru with the door (he's near the door in the first place).

Naruto stood up, "Who sent it?"

"T-T-The k-kidnappers!"

A silence that you can feel the whole North Pole...
Sasuke's eyes narrowed and grab the letter from the shaking hands of the poor shinobi. He then gave it to Naruto (how do you expect for someone to open a letter with just one hand?).

He read the letter to them and the females in the room were more willing than ever to strangle those (whoever they are) kidnappers!

"I'm sending Kurama along with you guys on this mission."

"Understood, Hokage-sama!"

"SHAAANRROO! They better be prepared to know what's hitting them!!!"

"Naruto, do you mind if I put them in a genjutsu?"

"Of course I don't mind. In fact, I'd be happy to let you do the torture."

"I'll make sure to give them enough holes for the most part and make them my target practice."

"Suit yourself, Tenten. No one's stopping you."

"Osu! I'll beat them down to a pulp!"

The precaution is better than nothing. Those *ahem* bastards will have to pay ten- no, wait, fifty folded the price for the damage they cause in Konoha (and also probably the other allianced villages). That afternoon, every person the Nanadaime Hokage chose to take part in the mission were gearing up. They have to prepare fast. There's no time to lose.

Now, let's get back to the children. Hinata is with Himawari, Boruto, and Naruto in Ichikaru Ramen Stand (or was that Ichiraku?). To give the poor Hyuuga a cool down, Himawari and Boruto decided to have some lunch. Being bombared with questions for the whole morning can send some children's stomach on a grumbling frenzy. Troublesome, if you put it in a Nara's language.

Sarada decided to drag Mitsuki along with her since Sakura invited the Uchicha girl for some window shopping.

For Shikadai, he sighed. Being in between two teens (who are his parents in the future) who are avoiding each other's gaze is so not his cup of tea. He then spoke up, "You know, it's such a drag sitting here with a tension of silence. Why not we walk the streets to cool down those heating ears of yours."

[A: Shikadai, you're being blunt. Why not sugar-coat those words of yours?
Shikadai: Too troublesome...]

For Chouchou and Chouji... well... they have a food showdown at the Akimichi Restaurant. In 'showdown', what I means is they decided to make their bonding time to a contest to avoid question's from Chouji's parent. (Will you approach your father and say: "Hey Dad! Come meet my daughter! Let's throw a party!") Weird, right? So this'll be a perfect excuse.

Inojin is so happy helping with Ino's flower shop. He even dragged Sai along with him, who didn't even decline to help. Ino's father decided to pay his daughter a visit. But around the time he arrived, only Inojin was left. (Was he seeing a mini-Ino?) Out of curiosity, he spoke up: "Hey, little girl..." (He didn't missed how the girl flinched) "...is Ino around?" When the said 'girl' told him that Ino went to get some stocks of seeds, he prepared to leave but the 'girl' followed up an: "I'm a boy..." Now that's an embarrassment.

For Chan, Lee, Tenten, and Gai, they went to the training grounds. Chan saw how Tenten was feeling our of place and decided to approach her. "Um, can I borrow some few kunais and shurikens?" He asked, in turn, she raised an eyebrow. "What for? I thought your specialty is taijutsu." Nevertheless, she hands him equally five kunais and shuriken. He poised himself an enough meter away from the targets and applied chakra to the weapons. Tenten nearly gasped; Lee's eyes widened; and Gai's jaw dropped. Chan hit the targets bulls eye. He then explained how he's both a taijutsu and kenjutsu user.

Mirai, Kurenai and Asuma were having a chat about life and well... likes and dislikes and... why Mirai decided to be a kunoichii. "Well, for one thing... I want to follow my father's footsteps in being a great leader and I want to support Mom."

This will their strating point. Well... their real adventure is just beginning, after all.
