"Tch, those Leaf bastards found a way to get through time, I see..."

"You sound displeased, My Lord."

"Damn right I am. Prepare the first troupe. We've got some Leaf to burn."

"As you wish!"

"Hinata-sama, may I ask who is the child you're with?" A young man with lavender eyes, proving him to be a Hyuuga, asked the heiress who is currently with chatting with a child.

"Ah, Neji-niisan!" Hinata cried in delight seeing her cousin and looked down to the child his cousin mentioned. "This is Himawari."

"Ah! Uncle Neji!" Himawari greeted with a sweet smile.

Neji blinked. Uncle? As far as he can remember, he doesn't have any niece or a nephew... right? Now that he mentioned it, his team had been too excited for the past few days. Lee and Tenten grew quite close. From the looks of it, Gai-sensei knew something; he was left out. Oh, he also saw the others with some children. It couldn't be a coincidence that Hinata-sama is with one, right?

"Neji-niisan?" Hinata waved her hand in front of her cousin's line of sight. He just went silent.

"Hinata-sama, is there some thing I should know about?" Neji asked

Hinata looked at Himawari who did the same back at her. Won't hurt if they tell him. Besides, Neji has to know.

"Well, Neji-niisan..."

"Checkmate."

"Eh?"

Shikadai sighed as he watched his grandfather (not that the man know of) gaped at the board in surprise. Dogeza, he sat. His fingers fiddle with the sleeves of the green kinagashi he's wearing, courtsey of Yoshino Nara. His hair tied the same way as his father.

Now to explain how he ended up playing shogi with his gradfather is that Shikaku was interested in him. Saying: "He looks so much like a Nara..."

"That's the fifth time you lost, Oyaji." Shikamaru sighed.

'This is... this kid keeps on beating me! Only my son, by far, is able to! Yet, this kid just appeared out of nowhere and beat me...' Shikaku wondered, 'Moreover, he looks a lot like my son aside from his eyes...'

Shikadai mentally flinched at the studying stare his grandfather gave him. What a drag... how on earth can he get away from here? Suddenly, Shikadai's eyes lit up unknown to the grown man in front of him. He turned to look at Shikamaru and sent him a pleading look that the teen caught right away.

"I have to go, Oyaji. Troublesome team meetings... and I'm bringing this kid with me. Jaa..." Shikamaru went on and grabbed Shikadai at the back collar of the sunlight green kinagashi the boy is wearing.

"What a drag..." Shikaku didn't midded that inaudible sigh from the young boy. This make the pieces of the puzzles come together.

He is Shikaku Nara; Head of the Nara Clan. After all... What's a Nara without theories?

Mitsuki turned down Sarada's invitation of joining her with Sakura; doesn't want to be in the way of bonding moments. So, he's currently alone in the house eating the tamagoyaki Mirai left for him. Himawari offered to keep him company that he turned down as well.

He's alone, yes. But not completely. A faint prescence of a person lingers near his position - in the living room. But the scent mostly indicates (even though it's faint) a snake.

He hummed, 'The only one with the scent of a snake in Konoha... huh? My parent is out of the question. Then... Anko-sensei is. But why spy on me? I may be a gennin and still a child, despite it I'm still my parent's child. Heh... she must've saw some resemblance on me. Hmm... maybe I should let my manners slip.'

An Orochimaru-like smile found its way to the pale boy's lips. He raised the only tamagoyaki left on his plate and let his tongue stretch longer as it encircle the said food and swallow it whole and licked his lips.

Anko, who was secretly watching the boy- eyes widening at the action she just saw. There's no doubt that this boy is connected to that damned Orochimaru! But how...?

Inojin admits that he acts a little bit neither like his parents. [This story was created before I watched Boruto: Naruto Next Generation so I didn't know that Lee's son is named Metal Lee and Inojin's attitude is much like Sai in many aspect. Until I watched it. But on Boruto: The Movie, I got the impression that result in his current character in my story. And I don't even know how Sai acts in the first place.] He's in some ways not like his short-tempered mother nor his uncanny father. Just somewhere along the middle. He prefers helping out the the Yamanaka shop and practice his drawings in spare time. But at their current state in the past, he's currently training the Yamanaka Ninja Art and as well as Sai's Beast Scroll.

To say the least that getting to know your father's past self is enjoyable, is not so bad. Knowing that you have some things in common. And Boruto made this chance to get to know Naruto even better. Talking about a lot of things and Boruto did his best to avoid the topic about his grandparents.

It was decided. 'I have a feeling that those people that kidnapped us will be back sooner or later. I have to tell Tsunade-sama about this...'

Mirai twirled the kunai around her fingers with that thought in mind. She really should inform the Godaime. Aah~... if only her big brother is here...

"Shikamaru-niichan..."

With one swift throw, the kunai hit directly at the center of the target.

[Short, I know. I just ran out of ideas for this chapter. And I got distracted by new ideas popping in my head that my hand are itching to write a new story. But I held  back. I want to finish this first and rewrite The Mixed Blood Sisters]
