Chapter 6

Hey guysNever ever, ever, ever, EVER! Get drunk and high in the same night, then pound the drinks down and keep eating the hash brownies that you’ll foolishly wolf down like a starving dog. You will not wake up in a good mood, you’ll feel like trash that was tossed into the sewer for five days then somehow got set out to bake in the hot sun for hours.... Okay maybe that was a little too dramatic.

Well in short I do not feel good, I woke up in a very, very bad way. Just imagine a lot of hurling sounds coming from my room. It was not good what so ever, and what made it even worse was that I didn’t even remember what happened last night. The only thing I could remember what a lot of hash brownies and alcohol, then I was in my bed.

Every time I’d try to think back to it I’d get a terrible headache and then end up getting a little high off of the medicine I’d take to make it go down. I laid on my back in my bed in the very dark place that was now my room, I didn’t want to see any sunlight for a long time. My clothes were all grimy and gross and I was glad that I hopped into the shower when I did. Even with it so dark I still had to squint to look at the clock, it was eleven. I groaned then almost instantly held my head as the one sound made my head feel it was in the middle of an earthquake.

It was very quiet and for that I was very thankful, but that also meant that I was alone in the house... Shannan wasn’t here. I sighed softly looked up at the dark ceiling above me, I was hungry, I was very hungry... I felt like I was starving but I really didn’t want to get up but it was going to have to happen sooner or later. I frowned and literally inched myself out of bed, I felt that sick. Hopefully I’d be able to keep everything down...

Once I got to the fridge I pulled it open and saw nothing, when I say nothing I mean nothing. My stomach whined in sadness, how was there nothing in the fridge? Did somebody break in and just steal all our food while I was unconscious? That obviously couldn’t have happened but what in the hell did? I closed the fridge and turned to the counter, nothing and then to the cabinet, it was bare as well. I was about to close it when I noticed a little yellow square like piece of sticky paper stuck to it and a wad of money. I pulled at the yellow sticky note and read the writing.

“Luna, if you looked in the fridge then you should know that everything is gone. There’s a list of things that I want you to get before I come home; that list is on the other counter and the cash is ONLY for the things on that list. As for your way of bringing all of those things back, well that’s your problem. You should have thought about that before you got yourself messed up.... Again.”

I should have known I’d get in trouble for this and Avery (if it was Avery) should have known not to drop me off here. I gritted my teeth as I snached the stack out of the cabnet and grabbed the list. Which was by the way front and back, jam packed with everything you could think of in very very tiny writing. As I scanned it I realized I’d have to go all over town for all this and the bad thing is I don’t have a car.

How did she accumulate all this stuff when we barely had anything in our fridge or cabinets to begin with? Also, where the heck did this wad of cash come from?? What if I get robbed? Then I’ll be on the side of the road, or wherever, with no money and no food. Great.

I rolled my eyes and walked into my room again and my stomach started to growl. Well I guess I should get this stuff as fast as I can before I starve to death. I looked everywhere for my phone and I swear I couldn’t find it, but I really needed some help here. I just couldn’t find it, so I guess I was going without it. My shoulders slumped and I shook my head. I slipped on my Nike socks and sandals, tied my hair up and put the list and wad of cash in my left pocket of my baggy grey sweats.
