(Reader's perspective:)
I kissed back... I kissed back...
The thought played back over and over again in my head. Why did I kiss back?
And why did he kiss me?
Not only that, but he kissed back twice!!!
I had no idea what was going on and my emotions were everywhere. But almost as soon as they started to flood into my brain, they were replaced by a single other thought.
He's leaving tomorrow.
And by then, none of it will matter.
You feel a pang in your chest...
*****
Eridans perspectiveYou have flutter beasts in your stomach. You believe that's the term, anyways.
Why did you kiss (y/n)? You had Fef, and she hated you. You probably only upset her more. You sit on the bench on the balcony outside of your room, one arm resting across your knees, the other running your fingers across your lips where (y/n)'s lay moments ago. A thought pops back into your head.
She kissed back.
You pull your fingers from your lips and think back to the kiss, which wasn't hard considering that's the main thing you were thinking of already. She did kiss back... But what did that mean? And did it change anything?
What were you saying. Of course it changed things. In the very least it changed everything!
It doesn't change the fact that you're going to never see her again after tomorrow.
You groan at the thought. Flashbacks of the nightmare from last week flood back. You've had smaller versions of the dream since, some a bit different, others just sections of the first. But you always see (y/n) drowning, you always hear the same thunderous chant, and there's always no way to save her.....
The thought of this sends another random thought into your head. One that scares you a bit and makes you feel uneasy and nervous.
What if she needs actual saving?
You ponder this thought a bit, and it lingers in your mind still when you start to nod off...

(In Eridans dream)
You find yourself in the same dream as before, only something was different. The glowing floating orb of water wasn't there. You hear the crunching of footsteps on the sand and turn on your heels to lock eyes with (y/n).
She wore a white dress that faded into the color of the sand and blew around her like it were underwater. She took a step towards you, and you found yourself meeting her half way. She leaned in close to you, placing a hand on the side of your face. You place your hand over hers, brushing her fingers with your thumb.
She let a few tears fall down her cheeks and she smiled at you sadly. You smile back, but soon you let it fall from your face.
(Y/n) starts to walk backwards towards the ocean, where the bubble from before has emerged. She never once turns her back to you. Just before her back can brush against the bubble, she speaks to you.
"You can't save me..." (y/n) says, barely above a whisper, but it echoes as loud as thunder in the dream bubble.
With that, she turns and swims into the bubble. You run to try to reach for her hand which still stuck out of the bubble she entered almost in slow motion. Realizing that you aren't getting any closer, you glance at your feel.
A pair of sandy hands are wrapped around your ankles, pulling you down as the hands slowly turn into the tentacles of Feferi's Lusus. The dream bubble fills with dark blue water as soon you find yourself no longer on a beach, but deep underwater. It was dark, but you could make out a white mass of tentacles and the barred teeth of Feferi's lusus as they came down on you.
***
You bolt upright, finding yourself still on the porch. You had fallen asleep...
What was that?
You cant help but feel chills, and it doesnt help when you recall (y/n)'s words.
'You cant save me'
What if she needs saving.....
But you arent the one who can save her?
