The harsh sound of a carriage wheel breaking just on the outside of the city woke Gabriel up from his sleep, he leaned over to see the puppy curled up next to he and Shadow, and listened to the voices of men on the other side of the wall. "You know, we lost that meat and the liquor, the boss is gunna seriously cut out pay" "Yeah and that mut he wanted"
hm.. Gabriel mumbled.
He cast the fire spell and heated the meat up, eating a piece and drinking from the liquor.
"Yo, Shadow" Gabriel shook him a little to wake him up, "got some food and drink for you here, we might have to book it pretty quick though the carriage that left this stuff is back and they're fairly mad"
"mmmm" Shadow grunted
"Check the city, maybe it ended up in there somehow."
Four brigands one with a mace, two with swords and one with a dagger walked into the inner walls.
"well" Shadow chuckled.
"I guess we've gotta do something about it" Gabriel finished his sentence.
They stood up, and walked past the puppy quietly and stepped out of the shack.
"Hey, we ate your food and drank your liquor" Shadow shouted
the men jerked around and stared at them.
"there's no way you drank that much liquor and ate that full crate of meat" the man with a mace retorted.
"Literally no way, not overnight" one snorted.
"Well, we intend to eat it all" Shadow replied.
"Well, looks like we've got to kill you than" the men chuckled and walked forward.
"Well, we'll eat while you're killing us" Gabriel grinned.
"What of the mut" one asked.
"He's alive, we fed him"
"we're gunna kill that too and get the boss a different one."
Gabriels eyes had fire in them.
"your posture is shit" Gabriel grunted.
"What did you say?" the man with the mace was slightly hunched over.
"Your stance isn't wide enough I'll crush your thighs before you can hurt me" Gabriel chuckled.
He ran forward to Gabriel and met him for a singular fight, within seconds Gabriels sword severed the main artery in the mans left leg.
"And now you'll bleed out" he kicked the main in the face.
"Well, what're you waiting for!" the man in the front yelled.
More men poured in from the caravan.
"It seems there's more Gabriel" Shadow smiled.
"well, that's fine" Gabriel chuckled.
"we're rusty anyways" Shadow laughed.
One by one they where cut down until only seven remained.
"You know, you don't have to do this" Shadow smiled.
"None of them even scratched us" Gabriel grunted.
"In fact, we'll spare you if you tell us who you are, who you work for and what the big deal was, I mean it was your fuck up you dropped the food, dog and the crate here, we took it so, stop punishing yourself more" Shadow bellowed.
