Shadow and Gabriel walked deeper into the mines until they came across a crew of workers, men adoring bright golden armor with beards and they weren't very tall."Hello?" Shadow said.
"Ah what is it ma'boy" one grunted.
"Where are we, exactly?" Gabriel replied.
"Yer in the mines, we dwarfs work here" he replied.
"Ah, what is it that you mine, iron, gold?" Shadow asked.
"Ah, we can't tell ye that, it's trade secret, in fact we should kill ya for being in here" he replied.
"Well, that's unfortunate, we're currently lost, have never really adventured far from the kingdom past the place covered in ashes" Gabriel replied.
"my my, my boy ye sure have traveled quite a ways haven't ya" He chuckled.
"No, no ones been in that kingdom in years ma boy" he laughed again.
"Don't try an lie to a dwarf ye hear."
"It might end poorly for ye" he grunted as he slammed his hammer towards Gabriel.
"Hey, can we not I've got a puppy here" Gabriel bellowed.
The crew looked back at them.
"And I'll gladly kill every last one of you bastards if you hurt it" Gabriel grunted.
"Ye couldn't hurt anyone, let alone a dwarf, pah, only rare weapons can penetrate this armor"
"In fact, if yer from that kingdom, strike this shield if you can cut it than yer not lyin" he chuckled.
Shadow stabbed forward, and his blade cut clean through the shield and into the dwarfs arm.
"Yeeowch, ye bastard" he grumbled.
"Who'd ya steal those from" he chuckled afterwards.
"no one, we woke up in the castle back there, we're the heirs to the throne but we'd been locked away in some memory or something, it doesn't make much sense to me" Gabriel looked up.
"Yeah, it is a little confusing.." Shadow replied.
"Lemme see yer eyes boys.." The dwarf said very seriously.
"er... ok?" Shadow looked down at him, opened his helm and the dwarf gasped, as he did with Gabriel.
"It's true, they be the heirs, one of blue one of purple"
The entire crew gasped and surrounded them.
"Come with us ma boys" the Dwarf chuckled.
They wandered downwards a tad more, through a spiraling tunnel and into a long transparent tube that appeared to go under the lava.
"How is it that this is possible..?" Gabriel looked up, he was very worried.
"Ma boy, this is Elven glass, and we reforged it a tad with that rock we wer mining, not even lightning can melt it." He chuckled.
"But, why glass?" Shadow asked, "Why not something not so see-through and worry-some"
"Well, the king said something about aesthetics and we also gotta watch close on something we can't really tell ye two about yet" The dwarf in the back let out a hardy laugh. They walked down a long path under the flowing magma until they finally reached a hatch in the bottom, the dwarf that was leading them opened it and the one behind turned his back to maintain his guard as they started climbing down a ladder for quite a ways, at the bottom the area opened up to reveal a large open cavern with natural bridge of stone leading over to a castle under the lava. Lava drained from the top of the cavern into a lake of lava below.
