"Sebastian Stan," Ben said, as he walked around the chair that their prisoner was tied to. "Did four tours in Afghanistan, but got dishonorably discharged for thinking with your temper, rather than your head. You were labeled an assassin."
He threw the folder he was reading from down on the floor, then stepped next to Cassie, who was looking at Sebastian with a dangerous glare. They were able to get the file using an old computer that was backed up by the generators and Cassie's still active Special Ops password. She can get anything on anybody from that.
"My question," Ben continued, "is why are you here? Why did you shoot two of my friends and infect more than ten of our people? Those two you infected, infected more and more and we had to kill all of them. We don't take that lightly."
He then turned to Cassie and said, "Love, would you like to do the honors?" She smiled at him and said, "I would love to." He placed a kiss on her lips, then smacked her butt as she walked up to Sebastian.
She then pointed a gun to his head and cocked it back, making him jump a bit. Just as she was pulling back the trigger, he shouted, "Wait, wait!" Cassie pulled back her gun with a smile. Ben walked up and quirked his eyebrow. "Yes?" He asked.
Sebastian looked back and forth between them, then said, "I have something for your boss." Ben and Cassie looked at each other. After a few minutes, Cassie nodded, so Ben walked out of the room and came back with Mark and Tom.
Ben, Cassie, and Tom all stood back as Sebastian told Mark to look in his bag. Mark picked up the backpack from across the room and opened it. Inside, was a videotape. It wasn't labeled or dated, but just blank.
Mark had everyone follow him to the control room, while Tony and Richard looked over Sebastian. Once they were in the control room, Tom put in the video and they all huddled around the 90's style T.V..
It went blank for just a few seconds...but then it showed Ben and Cassie. They were in their cell at the prison. There wasn't any sound, so there was no idea what they were talking about. As they watched, the two kept a close eye on each other, wondering what Gary had in store.
Suddenly, they started kissing in the video and they both knew where this was going. Cassie looked over to Tom, who was gripping the edge of a chair until his knuckles were white. Mark was looking uncomfortable.
It got to the part where Ben was kissing down Cassie's stomach, when Tom took out the tape and threw it across the room. "Goddammit!" He yelled. "I knew you two were up to something, I knew you fucked him, you liar!"
Cassie scoffed and shouted, "I never told you I didn't!" He stepped up to her and continued to yell, "No, you just told me you didn't love me!" She pointed to Ben, then yelled, "Because I love him!" Tom looked up to Ben with a deadly glare.
Ben went up next to Cassie and put his hand on her back. "I've always loved her, Tom," he said. "I'm sure you've known that." Cassie leaned into his side and he snaked his arm around her. Mark stood up from his seat and walked up next to Tom.
"You defiled my daughter," he said. "Sharon is the sweetest and kindest girl and you...you are betraying her, Ben. She loves you and it was because of that love that I did not kick you out of this place when you got back."
Ben furrowed his eyebrows. Where was this going? "You can't kick me out," he nervously laughed. "I can't help who I fall in love with, Mark. I'm sorry about Sharon, but my heart has always been set on Cassie."
He held her close to him and audibly gulped. "I won't kick you out," he said, "but you're on nightshift until my daughter's broken heart is mended, starting tonight." With that, he stormed out of the room. Tom, on the other hand, looked at the two with a disgusted expression.
"I thought you two were my friends," he told them, before slowly walking out. Once Ben and Cassie were alone, Cassie said, "Well, if Gary's plan B was to tear our alliance apart with our friends, he succeeded. And nightshift? Really? That's suicide, no one's done that since the trial run."
Ben sighed and said, "Yeah and it looks like I'm the Guiana pig in this one." Nightshift is when someone stands outside the gates at watch, while the rest of security gets some sleep. There are usually two people on, but the trial run that Mark held ended failing miserably.
The two unfortunate souls got surrounded by the infected and eaten. No one was there to open the gates for them when they were screaming bloody murder because everyone was sleeping. Mark hasn't looked back on it since...until now.
"I'm not comfortable with you doing that," Cassie told him. "Let me go with you." Ben smiled at her and said, "No, I'll be fine. I don't want to have to worry about you. Not that I worry because I know you can take care of yourself, but still."
She let out a heavy sigh. "Fine," she told him, "but come back to my place when you finish the shift." He nodded and told her, "I will. I should get going if Mark isn't going to kick me out. You know, I'm glad they found out. I don't want us to be a secret."
"I don't either," she said. "I just wish they could have found out a different way. I'll talk to Tom and Mark tonight and try to work something out. If tearing us apart is Gary's plan, then we need to stop it as quickly as possible. I would talk to Sharon, but I think that should be your department."
Ben sighed, "Yeah. I will. This time, she'll have to accept it for what it is." He looked to his watch. "I'm going to go. I love you. I really, really do." Cassie leaned up and placed a firm kiss on his lips. "Come back to me," she told him.
He smiled as he said, "I'll always come back for you."
