The passage was silent as Alice dragged her suitcase along beside her. She was extremely greatfull that Sebastian was nowhere to be seen, though she knew she would have to face the butler when she said her farewells to everyone. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she stared down the long, unending hallway towards the double doors that would lead her to her freedom.
Been around Sebastian was like been in a high security prison where your every move was monitored. You never knew what was hiding around any corner.
"This just doesn't feel right..." she trailed off scouting the large space carefully. All she needed was a glimpse of him and she would be satisfied that her instincts were correct.
A delicate frown crossed her features as she cautiously moved towards the front door. Opening the heavy doors, she was far from shocked when she found the drive way empty. Growling in frustration she dropped her suitcase and turned only to come face to chest with Sebastian.
"I just knew this had you written all over it..." she grumbled, eyes narrowed into a dark glare as she faced him.
The Butler just gave his infuriating smirk and shrugged casually, his sharp eyes wondering over her small form slowly. He could tell she was on edge, just how he liked her. Sebastian moved forward slowly closing the space between them, his smirk only widening more.
"Hmm well this is an interesting development." he purred.
Alice glared up at him, her mouth suddenly having gone dry. No matter how she tried she just couldn't form any words and to make it worse, her heart thundered in her chest. 'Damn it why is my heart racing! Alice don't be an idiot snap out of it and say something!' Her mind was running wild, racing ahead just as her heart was.
Sebastian chuckled lowly, slowly brushing her cheek As he watched her closely. "Your heart is going to pound right out your chest if it keeps this up." he taunted watching as her cheeks flustered up.
"You know if you have a change of mind or heart why deny it my little maid?" He watched her closely as he leaned nearer to her.
Alice felt her eyes widen, but she was frozen on the spot. The fact that her heart was pounding didn't help her very much either as she watched his lips draw closer to hers. Her mind was screaming at her but her body resisted every single order it was given. Before Alice could fully comprehend what she was doing, she found herself lip locked with the man she loathed the most.
Sebastian slowly pulled away from her, cupping her cheek as he did and smiled. "that wasn't the last my little maid, like I told you before on many other occasions, you belong to me." he purred then turned and left Alice stunned into silence staring at him.
Alice was brought to her senses when the sound of hooves broke the silence. She scowled as she looked back at where the Butler was. In a mood she climbed into the carriage and settled into the luxurious seat. "I am such an idiot... I should have refused him and why the hell was my heart racing!?" She rested her palms on her cheeks in frustration and breathed out deeply. "why must things get more complicated than what they already are? " she groaned lowly watching the various buildings that passed by in a single blurred line.
At the estate Sebastian walked through the halls smirking proudly to himself. "And now it is just a matter of time my little maid."
Alice sighed in relief as she eyed her home, it had been a while since she had returned to the estate that madam red had so kindly given to her, but it was too quiet and it was cold and empty. As she finished unpacking she eyed the clock on her wall and smiled. "Maybe I should go to him."
Grabbing Her coat she saddled her horse and mounted it taking the short ride to her lovers shop. Flurries of snow started drifting down as she found herself in the small side street that lead to him. Alice huddled herself deeper in her coat as she drew nearer to where she wanted to be. when in front of his door she tied up her horse And slowly turned to face the door.
The antique handle was like ice against her fingertips as she cautiously opened the door, regretting that she had forgotten her gloves at her manor. Peeking in she slipped into the dark room and smiled at the familiar sight. Undertaker sat working on a new coffin, humming a jolly song to himself.
"It's very good to see you again, love." he chuckled as he continued with his work. Running a hand through his bangs he pushed his hair out of his face, green eyes flashing in the dimly lit room.
Alice smiled walking up behind him and hugging him, her face pressed gently into his robes. "I missed you." she whispered. He was warm against her, a safe kind of warm she really missed.
Undertaker chuckled again turning around, he smiled pulling her tightly against him. He stroked her cheeks gently staring down at her contently, before pulling her into a deep kiss. He couldn't help but smile when he felt her relax in his arms. Pulling away he gave his creepy chuckle as he affectionately stroked her hair.
"I was beginning to think you forgot about me my love, come by the fire your as cold as ice." he smiled leading her to the small fireplace.
Alice smiled, her cheeks tinting pink as she cuddled against him. "I could never forget you." She gazed up at him, a soft smile on her lips. "I couldn't wait to get back to you." she whispered.
Undertaker gave a knowing smirk as he gently rubbed her back trying to rub some warmth back into her chilled skin. "I know you couldn't my dear, just as I thought of you every single day. The young Earl really did take good care of you after your little accident."
Alice nodded slowly as he watched the flames flick up and crackle. "Ciel is very generous. Ever since I arrived he has taken good care of me." She smiled a fond smile as she glanced up at her lover.
Undertaker hugged her closer nuzzling her hair gently. "Then I owe him many thanks don't I?" he chuckled. "The little Earl was very understanding when he took you in and I am happy that we were acquainted so soon." he pressed a soft kiss against her hair.
Alice gave a content sigh, allowing herself to forget about her worries in the arms of the towns weirdest man.
