I stand in front of my mirror, contemplating whether or not I should wear white heels or red flats. I shrug and I wear the white heels to the bathroom. I put on eyeliner and mascara, and I add a little white eye shadow. I grab my curling iron. I plug it in and I walk to my room and I grab the lace tights I bought and I slip them on. I slide the heels back on and I wrap the green ribbon around the seam of the skirt. I run back to the bathroom and I curl my hair and I tie another piece of the ribbon in my hair as a headband. I hear the door bell ring. I smile and I grab my wrap from the chair in the kitchen, and I walk to the car with Mrs. Baks to her van. I see the guy walk from his house dressed in a tuxedo and a red tie. I smile. "Hi Seattle." Mr. Baks smiles from the drivers seat. "Hello Sir." I answer, and Kelly giggles next to me in her seat. "Well you look pretty Kelly." I smile at her. She has a little red plaid dress with white tights and a huge bow on her head. "Thank you Seattle. You look pwetty too!" she giggles. Her mom laughs in the front seat. I smile. "Thank YOU Kelly." I giggle as I buckle and Mr. Baks pulls from my drive.
I look through the trees at the huge house. "Wow, that's so big." I talk to myself. "Yeah, Matilda always goes big. My sister lives here, she married to a pretty big executive." Mrs. Baks says looking at the house. "Kind of turned her into a snot." She chuckles. We stop in the front, and I unbuckle Kelly and I carry her to the other side of the car and I let her stand. She holds my hand. Mrs. Baks gets out. "You can take her inside if you want to, we'll be a minute." she smiles. "Okay. Let's go inside and wait for Mommy and Daddy okay Kelly?" I smile and I lead her into the large room. I look at the big staircase and the chandelier hanging from the ceiling. "KELLY DARLING!!! Oh you've grown!" I see a Blonde woman walking for Kelly. "AUNTIE TILDA!!!" she screeches. She hugs the little girl. "Molly is in the toy room, would you like to go play?" she asks, and Kelly nods quickly. She giggles and dashes upstairs and into a door around the corner. I smile. "Hello dear, I don't believe I know you." Mrs. Matilda smiles. "I'm Seattle, I just moved here." I smile. "Oh okay, Well, I'm Matilda Myers, just call me Tilly." she smiles. Mr. and Mrs. Baks come in from the door. "Hello Michelle. Harold. How're you two?" she asks. "Oh great. Kelly started school, and Seattle here gets a bit of a load off from her everyday job." she smiles at me. "I babysit for Mrs. Baks." Tilly seemed so confused. "Well that is a fun job, with Kelly it's great fun." She smiles. "Yeah, she such a sweet kid." I smile at Mrs. Baks. she does too.
After chatting with Tilly and her Mr. and Mrs. Baks, Tilly dragged me away. "Oh you'd just LOVE my nephew, his name is Josh. Sweet boy, I tell you. You must meet him!" she drags me to where all the drinks are. A tall reddish haired boy stands and talks to a group of girls. "I tell you now Tilly, he doesn't seem to be my type." I whisper to her. She frowns. "Then what is your type! A girl needs a man in her life!" She laughs. I shrug "I don't know, but I don't like guys that are so... Outgoing. Maybe one with a past like mine." I blush. She looks at me worried. "Well, whatever your past is I'm sure you'll find somebody Seattle." She smiles and rubs my shoulder. "At least make some friends. You seem so lonely." she hands me a glass from nearby. "Here," she pours some champagne looking stuff into the glass. "Have a drink. Enjoy yourself Seattle!!!" she smiles and tends to some other guests. I frown, and I swirl the liquid in my glass. I look up and a pair of deep brown eyes meet mine. "Hello. I'm Adam." I smile at my neighbor, and I take his hand. "Seattle, Nice to meet you." I shake his hand. He leans on the table with me. "This stuff is not for me." he grins. "But, I came anyway." I laugh. "I'm not big on parties either. Not my kind of thing, but I like dressing up." I look at the bubbles in my drink. He chuckles. "Wait, you... Literally live right next door don't you?" he asks. I nod. "Yeah. I haven't been able to come over and say hello yet though." I smile. "Well, Hello!" we laugh. "Hey, Young! How's it going bro?" Josh comes over. "Hey Josh. Good actually, I just put out a song. Made it to the radio. Fireflies?" he asks. I almost choke as I sip from my glass. He laughs. "You okay there, Seattle?" he pats my back. I nod. "You wrote Fireflies? I love that song." I tell him. He grins. "Thanks. I have more in the making. I'm thinking about calling the album Ocean Eyes." he smiles. We walk and talk for hours. He's so sweet. "Ladies and Gentleman, I just want to congratulate Adam here for making his New song Fireflies!!!" I here Tilly from nearby. He smiles. And his song comes on through the house. I smile. "See, you're a star Adam." I nudge him in the side. He laughs.
"Hey Seattle, we're heading home." Mrs. Baks smiles. "Oh okay. Bye Adam." I smile. "Bye Seattle. I'll see you tomorrow." he grins. I follow her with the sleepy looking Kelly. I pick her up and I carry her to the waiting car. Adam waves as we pull from the long drive. Well, that was a fun night. I smile to myself. They drop me at my drive and I slip inside and I head for my room. I change into pajamas, and I lay in my thick quilt, and I fall asleep quickly.
