HEY GUYS,
IM BACK! I just want to apologise for being absent for so long. Anyway, lets get started with the column! This week I have chosen to review several movies that I think are awesome! :)
Okay, I'm going to start with 'Just My Luck'. Just My Luck is a comedy starring Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine. Just My Luck revolves around one subject: Luck.
Here's the synopsis:
Ashley Albright is one of the luckiest women in New York City. Every time she picks up a lottery ticket she wins! Everything goes well for her. Life is easy for her and always will be. However, things change when she meets Jake Hardin at a party that she has organised for her proffession. Her Boss is there and everything is expected to go well. Jake is one of the unluckiest people in New York City. He always has been. When Ashley and Jake dance together they share a chance encounter and swap luck. Yes- Ashley gets bad luck and Jake gets good luck. As Ashley realises her luck has changed she starts to seek the mysterious (and masked) stranger she danced with at the masquerade ball. But will she find him?
Just My Luck was directed by Donald Petrie in 2006. It runs for 103 minutes and is a PG (Parental Guidance). On Metascore it has a score of 29/100 (which I think is ridiculously low!) It is a great film and should be awarded for its awesomeness.
Here's an interesting fact for you: Ever heard of the pop band McFly? Well, they are in Just My Luck. Awesome, right? :)
Okay, on to the second film. Now, I have chosen a thriller film. Its called 'Panic Room'. Anyways, if you havent read it yet, here's the synopsis!:
This Synopsis was taken from Wikipedia:
Recently divorced Meg Altman (Foster) and her 11-year-old daughter Sarah (Stewart) have just purchased a four-story brownstone on the Upper West Side of New York City. The house's previous owner, a reclusive millionaire, installed an isolated room used to protect the house's occupants from intruders. The "panic room" is protected by concrete and steel on all sides, a thick steel door, and an extensive security system with multiple surveillance cameras, a public announcement system, and a separate phone line. On the night the two move into the home, it is broken into by Junior (Leto), the previous owner's grandson; Burnham (Whitaker), an employee of the residence's security company; and Raoul (Yoakam), a ski mask-wearing gunman recruited by Junior. The three are after $3 million in bearer bonds, which are locked inside a floor safe in the panic room.
After discovering that the Altmans have moved in earlier than expected, Junior convinces a reluctant Burnham, who assumed the house was unoccupied, to continue with their heist. As they begin the robbery, Meg wakes up and happens to see the intruders on the video monitors in the panic room. Before the three can reach them, Meg and Sarah run into the panic room and close the door behind them, only to find that the burglars have disabled the telephone. Intending to force the two out of the room, Burnham introduces propane gas into the room's air vents. Raoul, in conflict with Burnham and Junior, dangerously increases the amount of gas. Unable to seal the vents, Meg ignites the gas while she and Sarah cover themselves with fireproof blankets, causing an explosion which vents into the room outside and causes a fire, injuring Junior.
I thought I'd stop the synopsis there so that when and if you watch the film, you will be able to see how things turn out. It is one of my favourite Thrillers, I think its awesome!
Anyway, that's it this week guys. I hope you enjoyed this column. Thank you all for reading!
