Tohru sat on the walkway, her eyes still locked on the spot were Kyo and Yuki had disappeared after Ren. Several hours had passed and the sun had risen, but there was still no sign of them, worrying Tohru to no end.
"Shigure, they're not back yet. What if-What if something happened to them and-?!"
"Tohru, just calm down. They'll be back soon, Kyo promised, remember?" Shigure said calmly as he joined her.
Tohru frowned and hung her head sadly. She was so worried, but she couldn't do anything to help. Why was she so useless and pathetic in times like this? Like when her mother died, or when Kyo ran off when she'd seen his true form for the first time.
"Oh, well well. Look who it is Tohru, just the boys you wanted to see."
Tohru jerked her head up to see Yuki and Kyo walking towards them. Kyo had Ren's arm draped over his shoulders and looked like he was practically dragging him along.
"Kyo! Yuki! Ren! Are you guys okay?! Are any of you hurt at all?! Do I need to go and get you anything?!" Tohru asked frantically as she jumped up and ran over to them.
Yuki smiled.
"We're alright, Miss Honda. But Ren needs help." His smile faded.
Tohru turned to Ren and her eyes widened in shock. His whole upper body was covered in dark bruises and it looked like he had a high fever as well, but then Tohru saw his face. Instead of being tense with pain, Ren's expression was peaceful and relaxed. It was almost like he was asleep.
"He passed out when we first started back, so I ended up dragging him all the way here." Kyo didn't sound irritated though, he actually sounded rather happy.
Tohru smiled.
"Alright, let's get him up to his room and into bed. I'll get the medicine for his fever." She said.
