"This Wasn't Supposed To Happen"

Fandom: Calfreezy

People: Calfreezy, Harry

Summary: You and Cal had been friends with benefits for quite some time now, and had agreed that there wouldn't be any feelings involved. However things don't exactly go as planned.

Requested: Yes

When Cal and you met at a bar one night, you had agreed that there would be no strings attached. You became good friends; good friends who would often have sex. It meant nothing; it wasn't supposed to mean anything. Although you enjoyed his company; he was a hilarious person, great in bed too, but it had always been to release frustration, or for fun times. It wasn't supposed to mean anything.

You weren't the sort of person who could remain committed, and jumped from boy to boy quite a lot. It wasn't a secret and when your boyfriends couldn't satisfy you, you could always count on Cal.

It had been a year since that night at the bar, with you eventually befriending most of Cal's friends as well, though you were strictly forbidden from seducing any of them. You were currently sat in Harry and the Cals' apartment, munching on some crisps as you mindlessly watched television. Callux was out for the day, and both Harry and Cal were recording videos, leaving you to your own devices.

That night you went clubbing with the boys, drinking to your heart's desire and ending the night with Cal in a hotel room. It wasn't unusual for you to wake up together, entangled in the sheets after one of those nights. However, it was unusual for Cal to be seen nowhere, for you were usually the first to wake, and leave.

Shrugging it off as him having something to do, you put on your clothes, giant glasses protecting your eyes from the blinding light of the sun. It took a while for you to be able to handle the raging pain in your head and leave the hotel room towards your own house.

It wasn't until two weeks later that you realized that something was wrong. Having been busy with work, you hadn't had much of a chance to hang out with most of your friends. What made you wonder, however, was that you hadn't heard from Callum even once. It was never that he had gone this long without contacting you, whether it was for a video, just to hang out, or to release some built up frustration.

Soon you found yourself making your way to his apartment, curious as to what was going on. The door was opened by Harry and you met him with a grin

"Here for Cal, right?" a small chuckle left your lips

"Yup, need to talk to him" his response was a single shrug as he let you in, closing the door behind you. You made your way towards Cals room, and not hearing any noise you could tell he wasn't recording. Yet you knocked lightly, waiting until you heard a mumble of 'come in' before walking inside the room.

Cal was sitting with his eyes glued to his computer screens, probably editing another video.

"Cal?" you spoke after a few seconds of him clicking away at the screen, not noticing that you were even there. He spun around in his chair, his eyes landing on you

"Hey, Y/N. What're you doing here?" you could tell something was wrong by the way he spoke. For his ton almost always carried traces of laughter and humor. But at the moment it was dull, plain and straight to the point

"I came to check up on you. It's been a while and I was wondering where you went..." you could see his face shift into a colder mask and it only increased your curiosity. He stood from his chair, walking towards you before he spoke

"I can't keep doing this, Y/N" his words were definitely not what you expected as you stared up at him, your eyes filled with confusion.

"Doing what?"

"Pretending that I don't have feelings for you." Your eyes widened as the words left his lips, opening your mouth to speak before he cut you off, "Yes I know. I know I promised that I wouldn't. But I can't help it" his voice was strained, a tired look in his eyes as he ran a frustrated hand through his hair.

"Callum..."

"You don't have to say anything, Y/N. I know how you are. I know you can't ever stick to one person. That's why I was distancing myself. I can't do this anymore. It hurts too much to know that you feel nothing."

"Oh..." you could still not fathom his words. Simply the fact that he had feelings for you, confused you' "I'm sorry" and those were your last words before you rushed out of his apartment and towards your own.
