[] Boy oh boy, things are getting GOOOD now! There's still so much drama that awaits. I can't wait to write more, but my life gets in the way of writing. Ugh. :( Anyways, I really hope you'll enjoy this chapter. It isn't too violent, but it is very graphic. Read at your discretion. []

KAI

I had tracked down Scott. It was rather easy to do. He was in one of the big gangs in Manhattan. Certainly not as big and as dangerous as the KKK. Scott was one of the body guards to the gang leader. I was gonna kill Scott, and Scott alone. I wasn't gonna kill more people than needed. I tried to listen to Eliza pleads to not kill innocents, but sometimes it got hard. My anger was like an atomic bomb, I will obliterate everything in my path. Eliza didn't like violence in the slightest, neither did Rosy. Rosy was a god fearing girl, she was always good. We were opposites, but they say opposites attract. Eliza on the other hand was more bad than Rosy. Eliza was Christian, but she never really spoke of God much. I found her one day, praying to Him. She looked so sad, but I just turned and left her be. She was whispering her prayer, but I didn't catch most of it. I wasn't very keen on holiness. I had only ever prayed to God once, and that was when Rosy was dying in my arms. I prayed that Rosy and Raven would live, but my prayers were left unanswered, which told me even in your darkest times God was silenced, and did nothing.

I had to be discrete about killing Scott. If anyone were to find out, I'd have to kill the whole gang, and doing so will cause all the dominos to fall. Other gangs would come after me. I had no problem defending myself, and killing them. But, I had Eliza to protect. I provided for her.
Scott had made his way home that night, he lived in an apartment complex, but as I approached his apartment building, he hurried out. I was thankful that it was dark out, and couldn't see me. I assumed he might know who I am.
I followed him, making sure he stayed oblivious to my presence. Scott had made his way a few blocks down the street, and turned right into a back alley. The back alley, looked like any other, but at the end of it there was a metal fence. I waited in the dark, watching Scott open the gate and close it. I noticed how slowly he closed the gate, and how quietly he did it. It was as if he wanted no one to know that he was there. I began to feel rather suspicious. As he began to walk off, I teleported to the other side of the fence, and watched him walk to a shed in the far corner. There was a stair case leading down, I turned myself invisible and followed him down the stairs. The smell of tobacco and beer filled my lungs. I smelt the faintness of ecstasy, and crack. But, despite that, at the bottom of the stairs it led into a small underground pub— that's what I assumed it was. It was dark, but my eyes had already adjusted. I then heard the cocking of a gun. It was unexpected. Then a gunshot rang throughout the pub. The shot rang in my ears, I heard blood splatter, and sound turned me on. Certainly not in a sexual way, but in a way most people would never feel. I watched as Scott fell to the floor with a loud thud. Headshot. The gaping hole in his head bled a lot, though he was dead.
I was actually feeling pretty great, someone had done my job for me. Less work for me, but I had sensed this wasn't over.

I had smelt the fresh blood from Scott, but this place reeked of death. As I stepped into the clearing, I saw all the bodies on the floor. I assumed it was the gang. Blood stained the wooden floors, these people were freshly killed. There was saws, knifes, and guns on the floor. Each body had their limbs sawed off, knifes stuck in their eyes, bullet wounds in their head. I was glad Eliza wasn't here to witness this. She had seen pretty horrible things in the movies she watched. She liked violence in movies, but when the danger was in front of her in reality, it scared her. I thought this was utterly sickening, I wouldn't a long time ago. I had done worse things long ago, but I changed.

I narrowed my eyes, and turned to face the man responsible for this. I was still invisible. I felt the need to kill this man, but I couldn't. If I did, I would do the thing I didn't want to happen. The whole gang would be dead, and I'd be the one most likely blamed for it. The gang leader stood before me, a gun in his hand. Scars covered his face, a ginger stubble on his jaw. His skin was pale and blotchy from the drugs I assumed he took. He was a little shorter than I was, but he was masculine. He looked awful, the poor bloke. I would very much enjoy killing him, I would do it, but there would be consequences. I had Eliza, and killing the gang leader is something I couldn't afford to risk. I wanted to ensure her safety. So, I let the gang leader go, judging from his intake of ecstasy, he didn't have long to live. He would die. I watched as he pulled the deceased Scott over, and took the saw, that dripped in the blood of his comrades. He began to saw at the limbs of Scott. I turned away, and teleported back outside. I had to get away, I needed fresh air. I assumed Scott's fate was the same as the other dead men.

I sighed, humanity very much confuses me. Sometimes they act as if Hell has taken over, and do things that make God turn away, and cover his eyes in dismay. Then sometimes humanity does these very good things. I settled with the fact that sin must've implanted its self into the hearts of humans, some more than others.

The time was 23:56 (11:56), I knew I had to return home to Eliza. I promised her, I'd be home at midnight.

ELIZA

At 23:57 (11:57) I heard the door swing open. I had been sitting on the couch, and I bolted up. Seeing Kai made my eyes water. I ran over to him, and hugged him tightly, 'death hugging' him. I felt his arms wrap around me, and I sobbed into his chest.
"Oh Kai. I was so worried." I said, my voice muffled as I spoke into his chest.
"Eliza." He purred, "it's all over."
I nodded, then felt him pick me up by my ass. I gasped, and looked down at him.
He smiled and walked over to the couch and sat down. I was straddling him, and his hands rested on my waist. He reached one hand up, and wiped my tears.
"Eliza—.." He said very softly.
"Kai.." I said, cutting him off, "tell me what happened. You haven't gotten a spot of blood on you, and you don't smell of death."
Kai sighed, "well I didn't kill anyone."
"W-What...b-but you said..."
"Hush." He said, and then explained to me everything that happened.
My eyes widened, "so the gang leader was a drug addict, and killed all his comrades..?"
He nodded, "yes, and judging from his looks, and his drug intake he's not gonna be living for much longer."
"O-Oh..." I said.

"Now..." He said, "you owe me an explanation."
Oh yes, I did. I had forgotten amidst this other drama.
"Right. I do don't I?" I said.
He nodded, "mmhm."
I could hear how tense his voice was, as if he was trying to keep his anger inside, but I tried to act oblivious to it. I hadn't done anything wrong.
"A month ago, one of my classmates came up to me. His name was Ed Hathaway. We were acquaintances, occasionally saying 'hello' in the hallways to and from classes. He knew that I wanted to become an oncologist. So, as I said, a month ago he came up to me, and told me his wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer. He was a wreck, Kai. He needed help, so I helped him. So a few day in the week, I took some time, and after classes we just talked. I haven't been cheating on you, I've been helping someone."
Kai was very silent for a few moments, "why didn't you tell me sooner?"
He didn't sound cross at all, I sighed in relief.
"I thought you would forbid me to see him."
"Forbid you...?" His voice raised.
I sighed, "you're protective, Kai. I thought... Look I just wanted to help him.."
Kai sighed too, "you have a kind soul... But you at least could've told me.."
"I know, I know. I'm so sorry. I promise to be more honest with you. I just was scared..."
He nodded, and pulled me into him. I felt a little flustered.
"K-Kai..?"
He kissed my temple, "hush, Eliza. Not more arguing. I understand. I'm just happy you're safe and sound."
"Oh, Kai." I said more softly.
"I like being able to hold you in my arms. You're safe, and that makes me so happy. You make me happy."
"Oh, I'm so glad." I said.
He began to rock me in his arms, and I laid my head on his chest.
"I love you, Kairo."
"I love you too, Elizabeth."
