Meeting Mom

Nightwing's POV
Me and Tim went back upstairs and I went up to Mar'i. I didn't want to ask because I already knew the answer, but I had to ask who her mother was. Just in case it wasn't her. "Hey Mar'i, who is your mother?" I asked, and she sighed "Her name was Princess Koriand'r, but everyone else knew her as-" "Starfire." I stated, knowing her very well. To think that another version of me did what I thought wasn't possible is mind boggling. However, something she said caught me off guard "What do you mean 'her name was'?" I asked, and her face turned very sad "She died when I was younger. She came down with an illnesses a couple months after I was born. Not even Gramps could save her." Mar'i said, starting to a cry a little. I sat next to her and put my arm around her to comfort her. I should make it up to her, and I know just how to do it. "You know, in this universe your mom is alive and well." I told her, and she looked at me with shock and excitement written in her face "Really!? Can we please visit!? Please Dad!" she begged and gave me a puppy dog face. "Okay, okay. We'll leave first thing tomorrow." I said, and she hugged me tight as hell and said "Thank you Dad!" and skipped away. I hope this all works out, Kori and I did not leave off on the right foot five years ago. I just hope that doesn't get in the way of meeting Mar'i.

Nightstar's POV
The next day came, and I am so excited! I'm gonna meet mom! I wonder what she'll think of me. Will she like me? She has too! I'm Mar'i! Everyone loves me! But what if I'm not a good Tamaranean? I don't even know how to be one! I'm so worried! I just hope she loves me...

Apparently, mom was on this remote island by herself. Gramps took us there in his super cool Bat Jet. We landed, and me and Dad went looking for her. And at last, we found mom! She was sitting near a waterfall. She looks beautiful! Her red hair is so lovely! I'm so jealous! Why can't my hair be like that!?

"Kori." Dad said, and she turned around in awe when she saw him. Her eyes were emerald green just like mine. "Dick!" Mom exclaimed and she got up and went to hug Dad. She has the body of a model, what the heck man!? "It has been a while friend! How are you, and who is your little friend here?" Mom asked, and I froze. I didn't know what to say. "I've been good. And this is Mar'i, our daughter." Dad said, and she looked at me for a while. She then grabbed and hugged me tight yelling "My bundle of joy!" She likes me! I hugged her back and tried not to cry happy tears in her arms. She then put me down and looked back at my Dad "Strange, I do not recall having a child." she said, I quickly forgot that this isn't my universe. "Well, I know this sounds crazy but she is our daughter from a different universe. She's going to be staying with me for a while." Dad told her "A reasonable explanation. On Tamaran we believe in multiple universes. Plus, I can tell that she is Tamaranean. And I can tell she is mine because of her eyes, and she is yours because of her long black hair." Mom said, kind if making fun of Dad's really long hair. We laughed for a bit, and then I hugged Mom again and said "I love you Mom, and I'm glad to have met you." She smiled and hugged me back saying "I love you too, my bundle of joy.'

Nightwing's POV
It was a nice time we had, but we had to get going back to Blúdhaven. Kori and Mar'i said there goodbyes, and we began walking back to the Bat Jet. "Dick." Kori said, and I turned around to see what she wanted "It was nice seeing you again." she stated and smiled at me. I smiled back and said "Likewise." and walked off.
