Riele-
Jace keeps shifting around as if he's got ants in his pants. He coughs into his hand, picks at the arm of his chair, and rolls his eyes at all of his bloopers without laughing. Meanwhile, the rest of us were cracking up over those good times. We revisited that hilarious scene where Ella had to where a wig that made her look like a dead President. The time Dan forgot to yell "Action!" And "Cut!" Because he was too busy chowing down on a donut or drinking coffee. Then the dreaded moment of the hour came.
"Now, I have a pretty fun game of Truth or Dare right here and I think we should play it."
Dan held up a little box of white and blue cards in it with a devilish grin aimed at everyone else.
"Is it mandatory that we play games meant for 13 year olds?"
Cooper stroked his chin with a wise old father time expression on his face. Nathan took the cards from Dan and nodded as he chuckled.
"Whether you're a kid at heart, or just a kid in reality we're playing this game and we're gonna have tons of fun."
He replied. I'm glad I wasn't the only one groaning my disapproval.
"Come on guys, this will be better than fun."
"What's better then fun?"
"Se-"
Cooper clapped his hand over Sean's mouth before he could finish that sentence. Ella and I turned to the cameras and made gagging motions with our fingers going down the back of our throats.
"Okay, here's how we're gonna play. I'll pas you the cards, you take one, read it, do the dare or tell the truth and then pass it to the person on your right, everyone got that?"
"Yep,"
"Sure,"
"Can't wait,"
Jace muttered sarcastically, slouching down even more in his chair. I didn't look at him, but I felt his eyes on me again. It's been happening all night, and now I can just sense when he's staring at me. But I don't return the heart eyes he's throwing. Nah, I've got a better idea. Nathan took the first card from the box and read it aloud to everyone who was paying attention.
"Alright, this one is for Riele, truth or dare."
I cleared my throat and sat up straight, glancing over at Ella.
"Dare."
"Oooh."
Ella poked me. Nathan nodded, the corner of his mouth was slightly lifted.
"We got a dare devil up in here okay, I dare you to kiss Sean... On the lips."
Sean and I exchanged glances, then he rubbed his hands together and grinned.
"I'm liking this game already."
I stood up and passed my clutch purse to Ella.
"Okay, I'll do it."
I walked over to Sean's chair, smiling. He leaned towards me with his big goofy blue eyes staring down at my mouth and I laughed.
"Don't stick your lips out like that!"
"Like what? These are my kissing machines, let's do this... Riele stop laughing."
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry-"
I took a little breath and tried to compose myself. I can't believe I'm about to do this, Sean and I have been best buds for a while. But I guess anything can and will happen tonight. Closing my eyes I smoothed my hand over the back of his neck and leaned forward.
"Shit! Oh! Oww! Ow!"
My eyes flew open just in time to see Jace topple over out of his chair Cooper and Nathan rushed to help him up.
"Jace, you alright man? You good?"
Jace rubbed the back of his head and winced. I looked over at him and rolled my eyes, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Yeah, I just- I don't know what happened."
He said. Cooper picked his chair up and planted it back beside mine.
"You sure you're okay? Maybe we should take a break for a little while?"
Dan made the cut sign to Connie and she stopped the cameras. I went back to my seat, Ella had her hand over her mouth but I could tell she wanted to laugh and so did I. He was being ridiculous. Jace sat back down as well, he glanced at me as he smoothed his hair back.
"Yeah, I'm fine... Let's keep going."
"If you say so."
Connie did another count down and we were filming once again, right back from where we started. It was Cooper's turn next. He picked a card and shot an amused look to Jace.
"Next one is for the J-man, truth or dare?"
Jace smiled and rubbed his hands over his jean clad thighs.
"Uhhh, truth I'll take truth."
Cooper looked at me and I frowned. Don't you dare, I said to him in my mind. I could just tell by the look on his face what was about to happen.
"Is it true that you were messing around with Isabela the same time you were dating Riele?"
"What?"
Jace exclaimed, then when he saw the cameras were still rolling he froze like bad WiFi. Ella popped up out of her chair looking as pissed as I felt.
"What?!"
She squealed.
I didn't say anything. Not one word. This wasn't a surprise to me. I knew what was going on the whole time he was lying to me.
"What?"
Sean was the third to repeat this word. His mouth had dropped open, just gaping as if he was about to take a huge bite out of a 12 inch burger.
"Okay okay everybody let's just- Connie cut!"
Dan called out, making several air slashes at his throat. Cooper let the card in his hand flutter to the shaggy carpeting as his lips pursed into an unassuming and resentful "O" As if he didn't already know. I hung my head and covered my eyes with the palm of my hand for a moment. Jace was stammering, Ella was stammering, and I wondered if Sean's mouth would ever be able to close again.
"You know what? Dan, Nathan, this was great thanks for having me but I think I should get going."
I pushed myself to my feet, smiled briefly at a speechless Dan and Nathan and turned on my heels to march out of the studio the way I came in. Ella scrambled out of her chair to catch up to me.
"Riele! Riele wait!"
I heard Jace coming up behind me, but I didn't stop. I didn't turn around. I pretended as if the air was haunted and walked out of that building with my chin raised and my care for every single person in that room except Ella on that set.
Thanks for reading! You know the drill :) Xoxo
